Robert Ferringo's Picks For NHL Hockey
    4-Units Take #60 Toronto (+1.20) over Boston (7pm, Saturday, March 23rd)

Trends guy's will hate this play with Boston winning eight straight games in this series, I hate trends so that means very little to me. Boston has definitely been the big brother in this series recently that includes two wins over theLeafs this year but Toronto played them tough in both games especially the game that was played at home losing 1-0. These two couldn't be any different as the Leafs can score but they're one of the worse teams in the league in defense while Boston plays tight defensively but doesn't score consistently and have only scored four goals in their last three games on this current road trip. Toronto is in the playoff race a shock to some out there but from listening to the Toronto players this game is a huge measuring stick for how far they have come. I think we will see a very energetic Toronto team tonight that might just be catching a Boston team that hasn't looked sharp lately and will be playing their fifth game in eight in the fifth different city over that span. I just don't the Bruins matching the intensity tonight and sometimes emotion is better then talent.

2-Unit Pick Take #53 Tampa Bay (+1.15) over Ottawa (2pm, Satiurday, March 23rd)

This two teams have one thing in common, both are suffering from injuries. The Senators are sitting in a playoff spot despite being one of the hardest hit teams in the league with injuries losing star players Jason Spezza , Erik Karlsson and goalie Graig Anderson plus some role players but have manage to keep it together and stay in the playoff picture. Tampa started the season hot and have fizzled and have recently but hit with injuries but I don't see this as a bad thing because the Lighting have called up young talent that are looking to play at this level. Ottawa is off a rough loss losing to Boston in a physical game at home on Thursday night. I like the fact that Tampa has hungry youth in their lineup right now, I know we will get a effort from this team. Ottawa has injuries players still playing which isn't good when your playing speed which exactly is what the Lighting have. Take the road team today.

2-Unit Pick take Over (5) Florida at New Jersey (7 pm, Saturday, March 23rd)

The NHL worst team the Florida Panthers will look to win three in a row at New Jersey tonight. I wouldn't say the Panthers are the worst team in the league, this team has lost some guy's to injury and have a lot of new faces in the lineup that are inexprience. Florida strength is more on the offensive end then in the defensive zone. The Panthers allow opponents high shot totals and Florida penalty kill is one of the worst in the NHL which isn't good going against a New Jersey power play that is heating up going 4 for 10 over their last 14 chances with the man advantage. I think this game will be played with offensive pace and this number falls short of that thinking. Go over

          triple-dime bet 731 Minnesota / 732 Florida Over 122.5 Bookmaker.com
          Analysis:

No need to get Over-Wordy here as this one is very Cut and Dry and the best kind to bet. The Number simply is too low, already up from an open of 122 and most likely going to continue to climb. That is why you MUST not wait and MUST Play now. My number is 131.6 here so this would still be a play at the 125.5 range and 2% beyond that. Strong Dynamics and Database stuff here that I keep and giving away those secrets is something that I will not do. I will tell youŸ this. We are going to see A LOT OF FREE THROWS in this game and that alone is likely to give us the number we need. We are also likely to see the Gators Pace up with their speed, and the Gophers do not back down to this type of play. Despite a lot of Trends pointing Under here, I really like it OVER and the fact is, those Trends are our Friend as that is the reason why we have a low total to work with. Grab it now at 3%..

                  Wunderdog Sports Free Pick

Game: Indiana at Chicago (8:00 PM Eastern)
                  Pick: Indiana +3.5 (-110)
Indiana played last night, while Chicago has home court and is rested. But, really, those are the only two edges the Bulls have tonight and it won't be enough. Chicago is terrible on offense, No. 29 in points scored and the Bulls are 10-24 ATS in their last 34 home games. The Bulls have lost six of eight games and suffered a humbling home loss to the Blazers on Thursday to fall to 8-14 over their last 22 games. Indiana is second in the NBA in points allowed, tops in rebounding, and off another blowout win last night, 102-78 over Milwaukee with only one starter playing over 27 minutes. The Pacers are 5-1 ATS when playing on no rest, and 14-6 ATS against the Eastern Conference. Indiana has won their three games by an average of 22.3 points, with each of the victories coming by 20 or more points. The Pacers look to complete a four-game season sweep of the Bulls here, and they are on a sizzling 17-8 ATS run overall. Play the Pacers.

                            Larry Ness ;

My 10* Las Vegas Insider is on Michigan St at 2:45 ET.
Memphis is athletic and multi-dimensional team which can score both inside and out. The Tigers are 25-1 SU their last 26 games BUT.... There's always a one of those, isn't there! Josh Pastner had the unenviable job of replacing Calipari at Memphis but it’s hard to argue with his success. He’s won two C-USA regular season titles and three C-USA tourneys in his four seasons, going 105-33 overall. However, as the Tigers got set to face St Mary's on Thursday, most of the focus was on TWO of Pastner's 33 losses, as those had come in the Tigers’ two previous NCAA appearances, each coming in Memphis’ first game. As usual, a skeptical public wondered whether Memphis has really been tested during the regular season. Josh Partner has heard just about enough. "To say that we haven't been battle tested is ridiculous," Pastner said Wednesday. "We've won 26 straight Conference USA games. Every time we step on the floor, we get everyone's best shot. That means if we're playing East Carolina, they have a gold-out. If we're playing Marshall they have a green-out." Talk is cheap and Pastner knows better than anyone that the easiest way (only way?) for Memphis to silence the doubters would be to win in the NCAA tournament. Pastner really NEEDS an NCAA win. I played the Tigers in that game and after opening an early 15-point lead, Memphis almost 'handed' the game to the Gaels. The Tigers won 54-52 (eking out a cover) but do you really think they are ready for "prime time" and in this particular case, Tom Izzo's Michigan St team? The Spartans dominated early vs Valpo and the 11-point final was NOT indicative of MSU's domination (led 35-18 at the half but a late 10-0 Valpo run closed the gap). The 6-9 Nix (9.9-6.5) had 23 & 15 plus leading scorer Appling (13.6-3.6-3.6) continued his comeback from an earlier slump, by scoring 15 points (he's averaged 15.8 PPG over his last five, shooting 46.2%). Joining Nix up front are the 6-9 Payne (10.3-7.4) and the rugged 6-6 Dawson (9.3-6.0) and that duo combined for 14 & 10. I just don't see Memphis matching up all that well and in the end, it's Izzo over Pastner, off his first NCAA win (and just barely, at that!) Izzo has a knack (that's an understatement!) of preparing his teams with March in mind and has made it to the Sweet 16 in 10 of his 12 chances when winning his first game of the tourney. He has 38 NCAA tournament victories (just 14 losses) and is 17-3 in the second game at an NCAA tournament site (that's round of 32, Elite 8 and championship games). The Tigers lost to their only Big Ten challenger this year, 84-75 to Minnesota in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in November. Really think they'll come any closer against the Spartans?

                            Good luck...Larry

Larry Ness' 10* Round of 32 G.O.Y. (won Rnd of 64 w/No. Carolina)

My 10* Round of 32 Game of the Year is on St Louis at 7:10 ET.
St Louis is a mid-major that has been carrying on the memory of its late coach while Oregon is a Pac-12 tournament champion that feels slighted by its No. 12 seed. Both schools won impressively on Thursday and now meet with a Sweet 16 bid on the line. Dana Altman of Oregon has proven his coaching 'chops' at previous stops at Kansas St and Creighton while St Louis' Jim Crews continues what's been a 'magical' run for the Billikens. Crews was a Bob Knight assistant which led to a long tenure at Evansville. He then took over as Army's head coach (that Knight influence is STRONG!) before landing the gig as Rick Majerus' assistant at St Louis. Majerus stepped down before the year began (no one quite knew the story) and Crews was named interim head coach. We do know that the Billkens made a trip to Washington (a team Oregon beat twice during conference play) and lost 66-61 on Dec 29, leaving the team at 3-3. Two days later, Majerus died. St Louis went on to win its next nine games and followed that with an 11-game winning streak. The Billikens knocked off a previously ranked Butler team THREE times this season and also swept both games against another ranked Atlantic-10 foe, Virginia Commonwealth. The Billikens are 25-3 since Majerus passed, with TWO of those losses coming in OT. St Louis has covered 16 of its last 17 games, going 15-1 as a favorite! Oregon struggled quite a bit when freshman PF Artis (8.7-3.3 APG) was out with an injury bu he started and played 17 minutes in the Ducks' 68-55 victory over Oklahoma State, scoring 13 points, adding assists plus made four steals. The selection committee didn't think much of Oregon (No. 12 seed) but let's remember, the Ducks tied for second place in the Pac-12, won the conference tourney and is now 21-4 with Dominic Artis in the lineup! Dotson (11.0) is also a freshman in the backcourt but Oregon's frontcourt is loaded with experienced seniors like the 6-6 Singler (11.5-4.9), 6-7 Rice transfer Kazemi (9.4-9.8) and the 6-11 Woods (9.3-3.7). I actually like Oregon (and Altman) but this St Louis team has a real chance at the Final 4. Mitchell (10.3-2.4-3.1) and McCall (9.5-2.5-2.7) comprise a veteran pair of guards plus 6-5 forward Evans (14.0-7.7) is one of the more underrated players in the nation. Depth and talent abounds at all positions with the 6-11 Loe (7.0-3,5) at center, the 6-8 Ellis (10.3-3.6) and the 6-8 Remekun (4.6-2.8) at the forward spots plus Jett (8.9-2.9-3.3) coming off the bench in the backcourt. St Louis won a school-record 28th game Thursday by smothering New Mexico State 64-44 (Billikens rank 15th in the nation by allowing just 57.7 PPG) and the 'hits' (meaning wins & covers) just keep coming tonight vs Oregon. Ducks, we hardly knew ya!
