He's off to a great start this year as well, allowing just one earned run over 6 innings of a 5-2 victory over Kansas City on April 3rd. Peavy is 6-2 with a 1.63 ERA in eight interleague starts since joining the White Sox in July 2009 and has earned two wins over Washington in that span. He tossed a three-hit shutout in his most recent game in the nation's capital on June 19, 2010, and is 2-0 with a 1.08 ERA in three starts there. Gio Gonzalez has struggled with the White Sox. I like their chances with the underrated Mike Pelfrey on the mound. The right-hander went 5 1/3 innings while not allowing a single earned run to pick up the win in an 8-2 victory over Detroit in his first start of the season on April 4th. Pelfrey has never faced Kansas City, giving him an advantage. Meanwhile, Minnesota has seen Jeremy Guthrie seven times, including once last year. Guthrie allowed five earned runs over 5 innings of a 5-7 home loss to the Twins on July 22nd. This scenario is why I believe that the Heat have been resting players down the stretch. They don't really care about the outcome of these games or they wouldn't do it. Once again, they are expected to rest Dwyane Wade (out), and they are likely to rest Chris Bosh (doubtful) as well. Milwaukee has a lot to play for tonight. It can still catch No. 7 Boston in the Eastern Conference playoff race. Even if it doesn't catch the Celtics, it wants to send a message to the Miami Heat that they will be in for a series if the Bucks have to settle for the No. 8 spot. The Bucks have already proven they can play with the Heat this year, winning 104-85 at home on December 29th. Memphis comes back home after spending the week on the west coast during their recent road trip. The Grizzlies will continue to rely on the brute force as their offense runs through Randolph and the Grizzlies generate almost all their offense inside the arc and at the free throw line. HC Lionel Hollins has his team take advantage of their inside strength with Zach Randolph and C Marc Gasol, whom make up arguably the best low-post tandem in the NBA. The Bobcats overhauled the coaching staff and they added five new players to the roster. There's nowhere to go but up for Charlotte. New head coach Mike Dunlap is a defensive strategist, but he's going to need a couple of years to get the right players in place. Charlotte (18-59) has played better in its last (14) games, going (5-9). The Bobcats are (7-3) ATS in their last (10) Tuesday games, (5-2) ATS in their last (7) games overall while the Grizzlies are (3-7) ATS in their last (10) home games. Take the Bobcats with the big number against the Bears five from Beale Street in Memphis tonight as Charlotte has held their own in their recent battles with Memphis. Memphis has to travel to Houston then has a date with the LA Clippers on Friday Night and this game will be nothing more than a practice session to them. Memphis beat this team by 7 points on the road earlier this season and Charlotte will look forward to this game much more than Memphis. I like the Bobcats to treat this like a playoff game and get up for this game as this is as close to the playoffs they will get which is facing the better teams in the league in the regular season.

These two teams have split the regular season thus far and Chicago beat this team 5-3 the last time they met whereas Minnesota won the time before in extra time. Chicago has started to play a bit better of late winning 4 of 5 but 3 of those wins were against Nashville. Minnesota went 1-2 on the road trip and comes back home and though Minnesota will seek revenge, so did Nashville the 3 times they lost to Chicago and that didn't pan out. Look for Chicago to continue to play well here as the Blackhawks are 38-16 against the West of late and the Wild are 0-4 when facing teams with a winning percentage of greater than 60% of late as well.

3-Unit Play. #928. Take Washington Nationals -150 over Chicago White Sox (Tuesday @ 7:05pm est).

Both these teams sit at 4-2 this season and thy face off here in Washington. The Nats are 3-0 at home this season and should be focused after losing two of three against the Reds. Gio Gonzalez is great after a team loss and the White Sox are hitting just .200 against lefties. The White Sox have played six games so far this season and they were all against right-handed starters. So, what you have here is the White Sox facing a lefty for the first time this season which could throw them off a bit and with the Nationals coming off a loss (just like their previous loss to the Reds when the lost 15-0, they have the propensity to bounce-back). None of the White Sox hitters that face Gonzalez today have an average of greater than .275 as only one of them has had remote success against Gio and that is Alexi Ramirez hitting .273. The others are all sub .250 averages essentially and with the Nationals coming off a loss, and the fact Werth, Span and LaRoche have some success against Peavy, I would not be surprised to see the Nationals step-up and do well here at home in this interleague matchup that likely features a low scoring win for the Nats. The Whitesox traditionally have not done well as road underdogs as they are 2-11 as road underdogs by this margin and the Nationals are 4-0 when Gonzalez starts with a total set at this margin.

3-Unit Pick Take #7 Washington (+1.35) over Montreal (7:35pm, Tuesday, April 9th)
I think this is a generous price for Montreal to be laying here against a Washington that is playing very good hockey heading into the final drive for the playoffs. The Cap's started the season off going 2-9 in their first eleven games while they were trying to get a hold of new coach Adam Oates system, a different style then their defensive style they took Washington to game seven vs the Rangers in last year playoffs. This Washington is better hockey club today winning four straight and ten of their last fourteen games to move them atop of theSoutheast division standings. Montreal is a good team, they have surprised some and themselves have won five of their last six and coming off a big home win vs Boston. They did loss a good defenseman losing Alexi Emelin for the season and will have a rookie replacing him. I think the Caps offense will test Montreal and I think these two teams are a lot closer in talent then this line suggest. I made Montreal just a -1.30 home favorite too much value in the line to pass up.

2-Unit Pick Take #13 St. Louis (-1.25) over Nashville (8pm, Tuesday, April 9th)
I don't get his line, the Blues came into Nashville in the second game of the season favored by the same price of a -1.25 road favorite but these two teams are much different now then that early game. The Blues are a confident bunch winning four straight games as they push for the playoffs while Nashville is suffering some key injuries and have problems scoring. Nashville playoff hopes are dismal after losing three straight and five of their last six games. I think this line should be closer to the Blues as a -1.40 favorite so I will back the playoff hungry hockey club.
