The Yankees took the first of this series 11-6, which was Cleveland’s home opener. The Yankees are 3-4 on the season and 2-2 on the road, while the Indians share the same 3-4 record. After starting 1-4 the Yankees have won two straight scoring 18 runs in those two games. Cleveland started 2-0 in Toronto, but have since gone 1-4 including two games where they were shutout in Tampa Bay. Andy Pettitte will be on the mound for New York and he started off the season with a great effort pitching 8 innings allowing 8 hits but just 1 earned run with 3 strikeouts. Last season after coming back from injury Pettitte went 5-4 with a very low 2.87 ERA, 2.32 OBA, and 1.29 WHIP. The Indians go with Carlos Carrasco for his first start of the season. In spring training he held a 6.00 ERA over 18 innings of work with batters hitting .301 against him. Carrasco hasn’t pitched in the Majors since 2011, where he was 8-9 with a 4.62 ERA, .270 OBA, and 1.36 WHIP. Take note that the Yankees are 38-16 in Pettitte’s last 52 starts and 45-18 in his last 63 starts as a favorite. Although it was a while ago, the Indians are 0-6 in Carrasco’s last 6 starts. New York has won 20 of these two teams last 27 meetings, and with Pettitte on the mound tonight I like the value we are getting on them to make it 21 of 28. Take New York.Comment
