3-Unit Play. Take Under 9 runs - Colorado at Arizona (4:10 p.m., Sunday, April 28)
Patrick Corbin has been nasty for Arizona in his first four starts going 2-0 with a 1.71 ERA allowing just 5 runs and striking out 20 in 26 1/3 innings. Corbin gave up 1 run in a 5-3 win against the Rockies last year in Arizona and he may be catching Colorado at the right time. The Rockies were 1 for 9 last night with runners in scoring position and have lost five of their last seven games following and eight game winning streak. Jon Garland (2-1, 4.68 ERA) will be tossing for Colorado and was rocked in his last start against the Braves giving up 3 home runs and 6 runs, but that was in Colorado and I expect him to be better against the D'backs lineup. The under is 3-0-1 in Colorado's last 4 road games and 3-0-1 in Arizona's last 4 games overall. These teams haven't scored over 9 runs in 6 games so far this year and I don't think they will do it today either.
2-Unit Play. Take #969 Texas (-135) over Minnesota (2:10 p.m., Sunday, April 28)
The Texas Rangers have not lost back to back games all season and I don't think they will let it happen today either. Minnesota beat Texas 7-2 last night but I like Alexi Ogando (2-1, 3.12 ERA) to lead Texas back home on winning note to end a 7 game road trip. Ogando has never made a start against the Twins but he has a 1.50 ERA in 6 innings of relief. Kevin Correia (2-1, 2.86 ERA) has been a pleasant surprise for Minnesota going at least 7 innings in all four starts and not giving up more than 3 runs in any of them, but is do for a bad start. Elvis Andrus is riding a 6 game hitting streak and Adrian Beltre who hit a home run Friday night is 4-10 off Correia in his career with a double and two bombs. Texas is 5-1 in their last 6 against Minnesota and the Rangers are 6-1 in Ogando's last 7 starts as a favorite.
