NHL action report: Two-way action on Game 2
The Stanley Cup final continues in Chicago tonight with the Blackhawks in front 1-0 after Game 1's triple-overtime victory. We talk to Ed Salmons, an oddsmaker at the LVH Superbook about the flow of action coming in on Game 2.
Boston Bruins at Chicago Blackhawks - Open: -147, Move: -144, Move: -148
Most books opened the line with the Blackhawks anywhere from -150 to -160. The LVH opened its line at -147 which saw a little action on the Bruins moving to -144. The line moved back to the original post and has since moved to -148 with both teams seeing even action.
"There hasn't been a whole lot of movement on that line and right now we're seeing two-way action on this game," Salmons told Covers. "The line may have been a tick higher than normal with Nathan Horton's status up in the air. He certainly adds a couple of cents to the Bruins' moneyline."
The same thing can be said of the total for Game 2 which hasn't seen enough one-sided action to move it one way or the other. The total of 5 (-140 under) has seen some play on the under and moved it to -145, but has since moved back to -140.
"We've seen some action on the total, but it's been very minimal up to this point," says Salmons. "Most of the action on NHL totals will usually come in about two to four hours before game time."Comment
