Michigan State -27.5 over Purdue
It is no secret that this is a nasty Spartan Defense. Michigan State is great against the run while Purdue can’t run the ball for the life of them. If you can’t run the ball you will be in 3rd and longs all afternoon. Forcing long passes equals interceptions. I think this is a game in which Michigan State can pitch a shutout against a very bad offense that is now going with a freshman QB. The Spartans are going to be getting into the tough part of their schedule in the next few weeks so it is crucial to put it all together today. This should be a one sided victory. Take Michigan State.
Auburn +13 over Texas AM
You will get today an Auburn team that really does not throw the ball much, but are great with 4 solid running backs at chewing up yardage. This is important because it will keep Johnny Football on the sidelines. Simply put this Aggie Defense stinks. SEC Football is all about defense and I think this is just way too many points in a game like this. Auburn has just cracked the top 25 and I think can turn this into a lower scoring game then the Aggies are used to. Take Auburn.
Washington State +39.5 over Oregon
Oregon is not only 6-0, but they are 6-0 against the spread. This is the reason why Vegas has too keep inflating their line. The Ducks are a great football team, but this Washington State team is very good and can throw the ball well. The Ducks will be wearing pink uniforms today for breast cancer. What team wears pink and wins by 40? I think this is a game in which Oregon wins, but 40 points is a tall order. Take Washington State.
LSU -10 over Ole Miss
Ole Miss showed so much promise this season, but in my opinion are not very well coached and they have a ton of injuries on defense. LSU is getting great play from their quarterback this year and their defense is starting to get confident. Confidence is something the Rebels have none of. Last year they had the same problem. A ton of talent, but always finding ways to lose. Now this year with a new coach he decides to not get 3 points in the 2nd and 3rd quarter in close games and rolls the dice too much which always backfire on them. Ole Miss was so close last week against a great football team and I think they have just lost all hope this season. They had a tough schedule, but they were the cards that were dealt. Take the Tigers.
Army -1.5 over Temple
Last year Temple had over 500 yards rushing the ball against this Owls team. That will not happen this year as their running game is a shell of what it was 12 months ago. This team is 0-6 for a reason. Army has one of the best running ranked teams in school history and I just don’t see this team keeping up as Army should run all over them. Army will be without a few key guys on defense, but this Temple team is just not built to score and they have used multiple quarterbacks this year trying to find an answer. I just don’t see a team in their position being able to stop this top ranked rushing game. Take Army.
Clemson +3.5 over Florida State
Florida State Freshman QB Winston has looked great this year, but this team has started slow to some bad teams this year. I am afraid if you don’t play four quarters against Clemson things could get ugly. Winston is an amazing talent, but he is matched up against a QB in Taj Boyd that has paid his dues in this league and have won big games. This is Winston’s first big game and it is on the road. I don’t doubt his ability, but this is a tough stadium to play in and I just think Clemson is more polished to win this game. Winston has been hyped up by the media and that is why he is favored here. Who has FSU really beaten for him to get more face time over a Taj Boyd who has done nothing but impress his entire career? Take Clemson.
Vanderbilt +6.5 over Georgia
The key to Georgia’s team was this offense, but three key receivers are done and their best running back is out again. This offensive line which is their strong point just can’t protect long enough for Murray to find his young guys trying to get open. The balance of this offense is off and this defense is as bad as it gets. How can a team with a depleted offense and a horrible defense win by this margin in the SEC.? Vanderbilt is not one of the best teams in the SEC, but they have the players to win against teams that are in the condition Georgia is in. Murray is still the best player on the field and I expect him to be able to put this team in position to win this game, but this spread is too high on the road. Take Vanderbilt.
Arizona -4 over Utah
Utah got a huge win over Stanford last week and are high off of that. I don’t want to say they are overlooking Arizona, but they for sure have been partying all week. Utah is just like the Seahawks in the NFL. That home stadium is impossible for opponents to win in. Arizona actually did go in there last year and did win. This Utah team is not a good road team and that is why the Wildcats are favored here. In fact this year I didn’t expect Utah to be that great of a football team. They have played well in a tough schedule, but again they were at home. This is night and day we are talking about. Carey is one of the best if not the best running back in the nation and at home I expect him to run this team to a big win. Arizona has slipped up a little this year, but their defense is very good and I expect them to win big here. Take Arizona.
