In training camp, Michael Vick’s unique running talents at QB appeared to be a good fit for Chip Kelly’s new zone-read offense. However, it has turned out that Vick’s balky hamstring has paved the way to the real key to the Philly
backfield, that being relief QB Nick Foles, he of the Peyton-like 16-0 TD-int. ratio. But Foles’ success has placed the
Eagles once again in the unenviable position of being favored at home, where the men in green have managed to
lose their last 10 games! In the first meeting between these two this season, host Washington was giving its first
snaps of the season to recovering QB Robert Griffin III who wasn’t even allowed on the field in the preseason. Not
surprisingly, the rusty RG3 tossed two interceptions. Although still not 100%, he is now more assertive (3 TDs, 0
ints. last game). Even though the Redskin “D” has disappointed, it is still a veteran unit and is getting a second look
at Kelly’s schemes.
