                VEGAS SPORTS INFORMER

2 Unit Play. #267 Take Arkansas St +8 over Ball St (9:00p.m., Sunday, Jan 5 ESPN - Go Daddy.Com Bowl)
Was a bit shocked on this number as I thought Ball St would be a 6-7 point favorite so when this number popped up I had to take the dog. Arkansas St is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games and 7-3-1 ATS against a team with a winning record. Ball St is 1-4 ATS when playing games on a neutral site.

5 Unit Play. #106 Take Cincinnati -6 ½ over San Diego (1:00p.m., Sunday, Jan 5 CBS)
(Wild Card Playoff Game of the Week)
How come nobody is talking about the Bengals in the AFC? Cincinnati has won 7 out of 8 home games by double-digits and haven't tasted a home loss all year long. Sunday in Cincinnati we could see -7 degrees and snow is possible so this California team might be in trouble. Not only does San Diego have to deal with weather but they also get the early time slot as well. These two teams played on Sunday December 10 at San Diego and the Bengals won so here we go again looking for a team to beat their opponent twice in one year. The Bengals defense will dominate this game and I see the Bengals winning by a late touchdown in the 4th quarter. Bengals advance and the Chargers get cold as soon as they get off the plane. San Diego is 3-9-1 ATS following a SU win and the Chargers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 meetings against Cincinnati. The Bengals are 11-1 ATS in their last 12 home games and 5-0 ATS against a team with a winning record.

                  3-Unit play. #107 San Francisco 49ers -2.5 over the Green Bay Packers (Jan 5 @ 4:45pm ET)
The San Francisco 49ers head to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers. The Packers are lucky to even be in the post season this year after losing quarterback Aaron Rodgers for half the season with an injury. The Packers were able to bounce back in Rodgers return with a win against the Chicago Bears. The San Francisco 49ers have maintained their winning ways throughout the season as everyone had expected them to. Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay has always been a good bet to make however the difference between these two teams is that the 49ers play defense and the Packers do not. The 49ers ranked third in scoring defense at 17.0 points and fifth in total defense at 316.9 yards per game. The Packers are just too depleted with injuries and even though they have Rodgers back in the pocket he will be afraid of taking any kind of hits against this 49ers defense and I think that will get the best of him. The 49ers defense is just too much and the Packers defense is nothing. The weather is supposed to be near zero temps but that should still not be a problem for the 49ers to rush attack against this weak defensive Packers team. Take the 49ers at -2.5 here.

                    7-Unit Play. Take #106 Cincinnati (-7) over San Diego (1 p.m., Sunday, January 5)
And so it continues. Is it just me or is no one catching on to just how good this Cincinnati team is at home? I am well aware of the Bengals struggles in the playoffs, but this team is different. They have one of the best defenses in the NFL and they have an extremely well balanced offense that has been putting up points in boat loads in front of their home fans. Regardless of the weather, team, or situation, the Bengals score and score plenty in Cincy. The Bengals have beaten their last five opponents, at home, by at least 17 points. Their smallest home victory over their last five games was against their division rival, the Ravens, who were fighting for their playoff lives. Prior to this streak, the Bengals beat the Patriots, Steelers, and Packers in Cincinnati as well. The Bengals are 11-1 ATS in their last 12 home games and 5-0 ATS in their last five games versus a team with a winning record. Another trend to keep an eye on is how the teams play on field turf. Cincy thrives on it while the Chargers struggle. The Bengals are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games on field turf while the Chargers are just 1-5 ATS in their last six games on the the surface. I know that Cincy struggled somewhat versus the Chargers earlier this year, but that game was in San Diego and it was 17-7 before Nick Novak hit a 48-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter. San Diego struggled to move the ball efficiently in that game, which means they will struggle even more on the road, in bad weather, versus a team hungry to give their home fans the playoff win they desperately deserve. This is not where the Bengals impressive season ends, or their even more impressive ATS streak at home. Lay the points in this one as the Bengals win by double figures yet again.

3-Unit Play. Take #107 San Francisco (+3) over Green Bay (4:40 p.m., Sunday, January 5)
I know that Aaron Rodgers is back, and I know that this game is in Green Bay, but I also know that San Francisco is a better team and they have a great shot at moving on in the playoffs. The points are always nice, but I don't see them being necessary as the 49ers win this game outright. San Francisco has the defense that can slow down the Packers and they have an offensive that will give the Packers fits both running and throwing the football. San Francisco is both 7-0 ATS in their last seven road games and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games versus the NFC. The trends on this Packers team aren't that great as of late, but a lot of that was due to Aaron Rodgers being out with his injury. This game is just about which team is better and who can get it done by protecting their QB and the football, both of which the 49ers are better at. Rodgers has a lot on his mind both personally and professionally and I see that taking a toll out of the QB. San Fran is my Wild Card team to make it to the big game this year, and they will get it started with a S.U. win in Green Bay.

4 Unit Play Take #108 Green Bay +3 over San Francisco (4:30pm est):
The folks in Green Bay are expecting a typical blustery cold January day in this one with temperatures struggling to get above zero. The Packers will be coming in with a chip on their shoulders as they have dropped some key games to these 49ers these last couple years and are lined as the underdog in this game despite it being played at home. With Aaron Rodgers back behind center all is right again with Green Bay as they go from an average team to one of the better teams in the league on offense. If you just look at the Packers games that Rodgers played a full game in this year you come away very impressed with the Green Bay resume. Add in the unreal win percentage Rodgers has at Lambeau Field these last few years (winning around 95% overall) and I'm left scratching my head wondering how San Francisco is favored in this one.

This cold weather won't be easy for a 49ers team that hails from sunny California. The Niners posted a solid 12-4 record this year but outside of their revenge minded two point home win over Seattle, thy lost their last four toughest games of the season as they looked like a team that was a notch below the serious contenders of the league in doing so. They dropped a close one at playoff bound New Orleans and were blown out at Seattle while also losing both games versus Indianapolis and Carolina at home meaning they are just 1-4 their last five games versus teams that are in this year's playoffs. The big talk with this 49ers squad is they have faced a tough schedule this year but if all you do is lose your big games than why should you be given much get credit for playing a hard schedule?

                      Take Green Bay here.

2 Unit Play. #108 Take Green Bay Packers +3 over San Francisco 49ers (Sunday 4:40 pm FOX) The Packers and Aaron Rodgers were rusty in his first game back against Chicago but expect a much better performance by Green Bay in this games especially since it is at Lambeau field. The 49ers are not a great offensive team and thus I expect them to struggle to move the football in cold weather. Green Bay lost to San Francisco in Week 1 of the season but in that game they were squarely focused on stopping the read option, something they really do not have to worry about in this game. Green Bay has covered 5 of their last 7 playoff games. Getting points with the Packers at home is too good to pass up.

                            3-Unit Play. Take #105 San Diego (+7) over Cincinnati (1 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 5)
I will take the points in this game. I think that these teams are closer than the oddsmakers. I had this game handicapped at 3.5 or 4.0. And I will take the points here because the Chargers have Philip Rivers. He is one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL and he has had a great season. The Bengals have struggled in the playoffs under Marvin Lewis and they should not be this big of a favorite. This is the biggest spread of the weekend. The Chargers have revenge in this game for a loss at home on Dec. 1. I don't think the Bengals will beat the Chargers twice in the last month and I am calling for the upset in this one! But I will take the points just in case and this one is a winner.

7-Unit Play. Take #107 San Francisco (-2.5) over Green Bay (4:30 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 5)
This is my NFL Playoff Game of the Year.
The 49ers beat Green Bay when the two teams met in San Francisco earlier in the year. They are going to win in Green Bay here and to advance. The Packers are like the Eagles. They are just lucky to be in the playoffs. They were losing to the Bears last week and should have lost that game if not for a miracle deep touchdown on fourth down in that one. San Francisco's defense is too tough. And Aaron Rodgers showed a lot of rust last week in his return. He has missed half of the year with that injury. And he could take one big hit and be out of the game again. San Francisco has gone to the NFC Championship in the last two years. I think they have a really good chance of doing it again in this game. They will shut down the Packers running game and tee off on Rodgers. This one will be all San Francisco. The spread says it all. The 49ers are favored on the road for a lot of reasons and they will take this one down.

This is a 14-point sweetheart teaser. Just about every sportsbook offers these plays. Just look under the teaser section.

                              108. Green Bay Packers +3* (mostly 2.5s but since 16% of all NFL games land on 3 we must buy up to the key number here)
