Analysis: At 8 pm, our selection is on the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders minus the points over UTEP. MTSU has dropped six of its last seven to the spread, while UTEP is on an 8-3 pointspread run. And these two ATS streaks have worked to create line value on the side of Middle Tennessee. Moreover, UTEP has played hardly any road games this season. It played at New Mexico St and at Washington St, but otherwise stacked its schedule with 12 home and three neutral court games. Analysis: At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the St. Louis Blues over the Los Angeles Kings. If the Pittsburgh Penguins, Chicago Blackhawks, and Anaheim Ducks were the best teams of the first half of this season, then it looks like the St. Louis Blues might be one of the best teams of the second half. The Blues are 8-1 in their last nine games with the only loss coming in a tough 2-1 defeat in Vancouver two games ago. Other than that, St. Louis has out-scored its opponents by 34-13 in the other eight games during this streak and the Blues goal differential of +63 is the best in the NHL. With their recent success, the Blues are now just two points behind the first-place Blackhawks in the Central Division and only six points behind the Anaheim Ducks for the best record - by total points - in the league. After losing five straight meetings against the Kings, including the last four games of the conference quarterfinals last season plus the first meeting of this season, the Blues broke through and easily beat L.A. in the last meeting here at home on January 2, shutting them out by a 5-0 tally. But the really good news for the Blues is that with 18 wins, they have one of the best home records in hockey (5-0 last five) and the home team has won seven of the last eight meetings in this series. Los Angeles has also dropped five straight on the road. Take St. Louis.

Analysis: At 9 pm, our selection is on Southern Utah + the points over Idaho State. The Thunderbirds have dropped 12 straight games since their season-opening win over Arizona Christian. And their last three losses have been particularly bad, as they lost by 36 at Northern Colorado, by 28 at home to Sacramento St., and by 34 at home to Northern Arizona. However, college basketball teams generally rebound off three straight defeats by more than 20 points, as they're 46-25 ATS since 1990. We saw this situation this past Sunday when Northwestern upset Illinois as a 5.5-point home underdog after dropping its previous three games by 26, 23 and 27 points. Additionally, the Thunderbirds fall into a 129-70 ATS system of mine which plays on certain teams on long losing streaks, and an 89-33 ATS system which plays on certain double-digit underdogs off back to back ATS losses. Analysis: At 9 pm, our selection is on the Minnesota Golden Gophers + the points over Ohio St. The Buckeyes had opened the season with 15 straight wins before dropping their last two games, at Michigan State, and at home to the Iowa Hawkeyes. The knee-jerk reaction might be to play on the Buckeyes to bounce back tonight. Unfortunately for Thad Matta's men, a 3rd straight loss is likely tonight. And that's because .833 (or better) teams (at Game 17 forward) are a dreary 29% ATS in conference road games off back to back losses. Additionally, Minnesota is a super 24-15 ATS as home underdogs when playing with revenge, provided the Gophers have a winning record (they're 13-4 this season). Take Minnesota + the points.

Analysis: At 9:35 pm, our selection is on the Oklahoma City Thunder + the points over Houston. These two teams met toward the end of December in Oklahoma City, and the Thunder blew out Houston, 117-86, as 4.5-point favorites. That was the 2nd game Oklahoma City played without star point guard Russell Westbrook following his latest surgery. Unfortunately for the Rockets that night, they were playing their fifth game in seven nights, while Oklahoma City was rested. When all was said and done, the Thunder shot 57 percent from the field, and handed Houston its 2nd-worst loss of the season. As luck would have it, Houston is once again playing its fifth game in seven nights on Thursday. And the Rockets are a horrible 9-32 ATS at home since 1990 when playing their fifth game in seven nights vs. an opponent not playing its fifth game in seven nights. That doesn't bode well for the Rockets in this game. And neither does the fact that Oklahoma City is coming off a loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. Since Scotty Brooks took over as head coach in November 2008, OKC has been the league's best team coming off a SU loss. It's 103-49-2 ATS in the regular season in that situation, including 84-35-2 ATS off an ATS loss (although 2-2 ATS since Westbrook's latest injury). Take the Thunder plus the points.
