This is the fourth meeting in the last three years, and Seattle has won all 4 of those games but only by a combined 13 points. For Carolina to have a chance they will have to shorten the game like they did in their regular-season meeting with Seattle this season, losing by a score of 13-9. That is how I expect this game to go this weekend as well as Seattle is still a run-first team with an outstanding defense. These teams have combined for just 69 points in their last three meetings, and thus we will side with the under. Seattle has played under the posted total in 9 of their last 13 home games. Carolina has played under the posted total in 14 of their last 20 games against NFC teams.

Many people are drinking the Ravens cool-aid at the moment and feel they can go into Foxboro and beat the Patriots for the third time in their last four playoff attempts. I am not one of those people, as the Ravens are just not the same team on defense. Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are no longer playing, the secondary is very weak and QB Tom Brady and company will be able to pick them apart. New England asserted themselves as the best team in the AFC over the last 14 weeks, and many including me feel they are the best team in the NFL. For the first time since their glory days, the Patriots actually have a strong defense to complement their dynamic offense. New England is 8-0 ATS in their last 8 home games against teams with a winning road record.

When taking the under in the game it is always a good quinella to play the big underdog as well. I like our chances to cover the spread if the game stays under the posted total. Carolina always plays the Seahawks tough including this season and Cam Newton is seems to have more scrambling ability than he had for most of this season.
