8-Unit Play #701 Take Washington +1.5 over Charlotte (7 p.m. EST, Monday) The Wizards have not been playing well lately, but the oddsmakers have really overadjusted here and the bright spot of the Wizards current struggles is that there is finally some value here in this team. We had the Wizards handicapped as two-point favorites in this one and expect them to win this game. The Hornets enter this game on a back-to-back while the Wizards had a day of rest on Sunday. Bradley Beal has been out for awhile and that has been a big reason why the Wizards have not played well as he is such a crucial cog in the Wizards machine. He is expected back tonight and we think he will give this team a big boost. The Wizards are a desperate team and they have to start winning now. We think they will start to play better with Beal back in the lineup and we think there is value in this team right now as a buy low option. A few weeks ago the Wizards would have been road favorites here but because of their lack of ATS success the oddsmakers have adjusted their power rankings for this team. But this Wizards team is a very solid ballclub and one of the better teams in the east when at full health and they are just the better overall club in this matchup and we expect them to get a crucial road win tonight.

3-Unit Play #706 Take Atlanta -11 over Sacramento (7:30 p.m. EST, Monday) This game is just a mismatch and we expect the Hawks to roll tonight. Atlanta is coming off a rare game where they didn’t show up in Philly as they suffered an 8-point loss. This will be kind of a wake-up call for this team and this Hawks club won’t have two consecutive sub-par games. The Kings have not been playing any defense lately, and that shows a real lack of effort on their part. Atlanta will make them pay tonight, and we think the Hawks can pick their own score tonight. We aren’t worried about the big line here and think this will be an embarrassing loss for the road team tonight.

3-Unit Play #707 Take Memphis/Chicago UNDER 184.5 (7:30 p.m. EST, Monday) These are two of the best defensive teams in the league and we expect a low-scoring game tonight. The Bulls are coming off a bad defensive performance on Sunday against the Spurs and we don’t think they will be that bad two games in a row. We expect to see a much better defensive performance from them tonight. Aside from that game against the Spurs yesterday they have been very solid on that end of the court lately, and Memphis of course is one of the best in the league defensively. The Under is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings and we think there is a great chance that this one winds up in the 170s.

4-Unit Play #712 Take Denver -9 over New York (9 p.m. EST, Monday) New York starts a 5-game road trip tonight, and we don’t expect things to go well for them. And we think they are due for a blowout road loss right out of the gate. The Nuggets are 3-1 ATS since their coaching change. This team has always had the talent but they evidently were tuning their coach out. But they really have the advantage on every area of the court tonight and we expect them to play very well against an opponent that doesn’t bring much to the table right now. The Knicks have scored in the 80s for three straight games and that is not going to get the job done tonight against a Denver team that has been playing very well offensively.

3-Unit Play #714 Take Phoenix +5 over Golden State (10 p.m. EST, Monday) Really like the Suns in this spot. They match up well against the Warriors and have covered in three of the last four meetings. The Suns had the night off on Sunday while the Warriors used a lot of energy in a big home win over their most bitter rival, the LA Clippers. Golden State looked like they wore down in the fourth quarter after using a lot of energy all game last night, and we think there will be a carryover effect here tonight. This is a really crucial game for Phoenix for their playoff hopes and the Warriors had a more important game last night and we expect a letdown here for the road team and think the Suns have a great chance for the straight up win here.
