  The Indians took the opener of their 3 game series in New York last night and we see them taking another victory tonight. The starting pitchers for tonight’s game are for the Indians RH Trevor Bauer (13-8, 4.59 ERA) and he will face the Yankees LH Jaime Garcia (5-8, 4.52 ERA) Bauer is starting to pitch very well for the Indians after starting the season in shambles. In fact, in the month of August he has a 4-0 record with a 2.45 ERA. The last time Bauer faced the Yankees on August 4th he allowed one run in seven innings. We like him to have another quaility start tonight. As for Garcia, since the Yankees picked him up at the trade deadline he has had 4 rough starts. He is sporting a 5.95 ERA with a WHIP of 1.78 in those 4 starts. In his first start for the Yankees, he faced these same Indians and allowed 6 runs in 4 2/3 innings. The Indians have done well against LH pitching this year as they lead all MLB with hits against lefties. Cleveland has won 5 in a row and tonight will be number 6. Our numbers had this at -126 so there is tons of value as well laying only 101 at the time of this writing.

  Look out now as the Baltimore Orioles are on a five game win streak and only a game and a half out of a playoff berth. The Orioles took the opener from the Mariners who are right on their heels for that same playoff berth. Tonight’s starting pitchers are for the Mariners RH Erasmo Ramirez (5-4, 4.52 ERA) and he will face the Orioles RH Dylan Bundy (12-8, 4.18 ERA) Ramirez has starting to pitch well for Seattle but we just can’t trust him on the road as he is sporting a 7.59 ERA with a WHIP of 1.625 in 7 road starts. As for Bundy, he has had a nice season for the Orioles. He has really started to pitch well when the Orioles need him the most. In the month of August he has a 3-0 record with a 2.67 ERA and a WHIP of 0.96. We see another quality start for Bundy especially at home. Baltimore has a 39-26 home record, which is really good for a team that is only one game over .500. They will get their 40th tonight.

****6-unit Play Take #982 Houston Astros (-140) over Texas Rangers (7:10pm EST) Tonight's game between the Astros and Rangers is being played in Tropicana Field in Tampa as hurricane Harvey has tragically left most of Houston under water. The Rangers unbelievably refused to swap home series with the Astros and play this one in Arlington. They were concerned with ticket sales, while the city of Houston is in a state of emergency. I'm not sure if karma is a thing, but either way I think the Astros are going to be more than a little peeved about traveling to Florida on the Rangers' account. In fact, Lance McCullers has already voiced his disgust with the Rangers decision. So I'm sure the Astros will be a little more fired up given the circumstances. The Rangers have fallen three games back in the AL wild card race after three consecutive losses, and they have a lot of teams to leap frog. Martin Perez goes for Texas today and he's had a very tough 2017. He comes in with a 5.00 ERA in 25 starts, although he is coming off of his best outing of the season. The Astros counter with Mike Fiers, who has continued to grind with a 4.17 ERA in his 25 starts. Fiers has had some rough patches this season, but overall he's been a nice back-of-the-rotation arm for Houston. Take the Astros in what should be an emotional game.


***4-unit Play Take #968 Baltimore Orioles (-130) over Seattle Mariners (7:05pm EST) The Orioles are surging with five straight wins and are now above the .500 mark on the season. The story of the O's season has been their dominance at home (39-26) contrasted against their struggles on the road (27-39). We've been riding that trend for a good part of the season, and tonight we'll try with Baltimore again. Dylan Bundy toes the rubber for the Orioles and he comes in at 12-8 with a 4.18 ERA on the season. You can see his confidence level is much higher than it was at the beginning of the season and he has the stuff to be a really good pitcher. The M's have dropped three straight and are in jeopardy of falling out of the AL wild card race. I'm not a big fan of today's starter Erasmo Ramirez and he has a big challenge on his hands facing the O's lineup in Camden. Play Baltimore here.
