We roll with the Over here in what should be a high scoring game on Thursday Night. There are a couple of factors that are happening here at once. For starters, this is a game that features a Louisiana Lafayette team that is a sizeable underdog of 12 points and it is rising to 13 points in some places. Louisiana Lafayette is a 3-3 team and comes off winning 24-7 against Texas State and 21-16 against Idaho. This is a team that played Texas A&M earlier this year and lost 21-45 and put up 42 on Tulsa (and also gave up 66 points to them as well). Louisiana Lafayette is a top 60 offense and beat this team 24-19 last year which is why Arkansas State is such a favorite today as they have revenge in this game. Plus, this team is outside the top 120 in defense overall and outside the top 120 in rush defense as well. So, with a decent offense, facing a team with big revenge, this game could get out of hand. Remember, Arkansas State just dropped 51 points on Coastal Carolina and 43 against Georgia Southern. But, note that Georgia Southern is a terrible offense and they gave up 24 points in that game which makes sense because they are ranked top 110 in overall defense and outside the top 110 in rush defense. This sets up for a lot of scoring today as this game likely goes over the posted total. Note, the Over is 22-7-1 for Arkansas State in Conference Games.
