I realize that the Braves have a tough task ahead of them in facing Jacob deGrom. But deGrom was shelled in his last start, giving up six runs on eight hits in four innings to the Twins, proving he can be hit. In addition, Atlanta went 5-1 last season against the Mets in games started by deGrom. My model says that the Braves win more than 50 percent of the simulations, making this moneyline way off.

The Reds have won four straight games, outscoring teams 26-3 during the winning streak. But I think the streak ends Sunday in Mexico. Cardinals starter Miles Mikolas is 2-0 with a 3.15 ERA against the Reds in his career. In addition, Reds starter Anthony DeSclafani (0-1, 6.75 ERA) was rocked by St. Louis last season (10 earned runs on 20 hits in 12 innings) and has struggled against Paul Goldschmidt (7-for-11) and Matt Carpenter (9-for-20, three homers). My model says the Cardinals win 66 percent of simulations, so this is a strong play on the moneyline.

After being rained out on Saturday, the Rangers send Adrian Sampson to the mound for his first start of the season while the A’s will counter with Brett Anderson. Texas has lost five of six while the A’s have won four straight. In his only appearance against the A’s, on Sept. 7 of last year, Sampson gave up three runs on four hits and lasted only one-third of an inning. My model has Oakland winning 61 percent of simulations, making this moneyline play a good value.
