My 1* Free Play is on the Cleveland Indians (6:10 EST).
Off yesterday’s loss, I think that Trevor Bauer and the home side offer great value to bounce back on Tuesday night.
The visitors hand the ball to Chris Bassitt (2-1, 1.93 ERA), who has looked great in his limited time, but who has struggled against the Tribe in two career starts, giving up five runs over 13.1 innings of work. While the A’s average 4.73 runs per game overall, they’re still only 8-15 on the road this year.
Bauer (4-2, 3.76) faced Oakland earlier this month and gave up two runs over seven innings. While he’s just 1-3 in seven career starts vs. the A’s, he still owns a very respectable 3.38 ERA in those contests. While averaging only 3.98 RPG overall after their slow start, the Indians have consistently been at their best at home by going 14-8 thus far.
I like Cleveland and Bauer to bounce back after yesterday’s 6-4 defeat. Consider the Indians on Tuesday night.

Game 6 on the road, most pundits handing the series to Vegas already, and yet San Jose found a way. That is the same thing I expect here as it is the wounded dog that bites the hardest! Yes the Sharks are banged up but they also got thoroughly embarrassed on home ice on Sunday in a 5-0 loss and they will respond here in Game 6. The fact that the Blues are at home actually favors the Sharks when you consider the numbers which are so strong that it is hard to ignore. In St Louis post-season games this year, the home team has prevailed in only 6 of 18 games! Also, the Sharks have won 8 of 10 games this season when off a game in which they were held to 1 goal or less. After getting shut out in Game 5 on their own ice, don't be surprised if the Sharks again find a way in Game 6 at St Louis just like they did when they upset Vegas in a similar situation in round one. When it comes to money line sports, 99.9 percent of the time I either play underdogs or totals. The rare occasion though I’ll lay chalk. And after taking the Blues as an underdog in Game 5 on the road in San Jose, I believe they’re going to carry over their recent momentum and end this series here and now. St. Louis was dominant on both ends of the ice in the 5-0 Game 5 victory. The Sharks appear to be on fumes, mustering a single goal over the last two games. San Jose is MUCH better at home as well, coming into this one at 24-24 on the road, averaging 3.29 goals and conceding 3.46. St. Louis is 27-22 at home, averaging 3.10 goals and allowing 2.98. Blues’ goaltender Jordan Binnington went 14-2 with a 2.02 GAA at home in the regular season. Take it for what you will as well, but SJ is just 2-6 in its last eight playoff games as an underdog in the +110 to +150 range, while St. Louis is 30-12 in its last 42 when playing on one days rest. In this case, i feel that the home side is worth the price of admission. Play on St. Louis.
