The Chicago Cubs roll out LHP Jose Quintana for Tuesday's start against the Philadelphia Phillies and RHP Zach Eflin. The Phils opened the series with a 5-4 victory in 10 innings at Wrigley Field on Monday, as J.T. Realmuto delivered an extra-innings homer to help the Phils to the extra-innings win. In addition, the late rally in the ninth and the run in the 10th helped the 'over' (8.5) connect.
The Phillies enter on a four-game heater, and they're 5-1 across the past six games on the road, too. In addition, they're 4-1 in the past five on the road against a winning team. However, Philadelphia has also managed just two victories across the past eight outings against a left-handed starting pitcher, while going just 2-19 in Eflin's past 11 on the road. They're also 1-5 in Eflin's past six assignments against teams with a winning overall record. Also, Philadelphia has managed just three victories across the past 11 visits to Wrigley Field, while the over is 6-2 across the past eight in Chicago.
The Cubs are still 15-6 across the past 21 gams despite their series-opening setback, and they're 11-4 over the past 15 games at Wrigley Field. Chicago is also an impressive 19-7 over the past 26 games against right-handed starting pitchers, while going 39-18 in the past 57 at the friendly confines vs. RHP. They're also 20-7 across Quintana's past 27 home outings, and 5-2 in his past seven at home against teams with a winning overall record. They're also 8-3 in the past 11 oiutings against NL East foes.
As far as the total, the under is 8-2-1 in Philly's past 11 road games, and 8-2-1 in their past 11 on the road vs. LHP, too. The under is also 21-9-1 in the past 21 overall for Philly, and 4-1-1 over Eflin's past six outings overall. The under is also 5-1 across the past six home games for the Cubbies, while going 16-5 in the past 21 home outings against teams with a winning road record. The over has cashed in six of the previous eight meetings in Chicago.

The Rockies and Pirates will kick off a new series in the Steel City. Colorado will be looking to turn things around after a four-game nosedive. They're also 0-4 in the past four on the road, and 0-4 in the past four against teams with a winning overall record, too. They turn to RHP German Marquez to pull them out of their skid, and Colorado is 5-2 across his past seven outings. The Pirates have won seven of their past 10 games, and tgey're 16-5 in the past 21 at home against teams with a losing road record while going 5-1 in the past six vs. RHP. However, the Bucs are just 3-7 in the past 10 on the road, and 0-4 in RHP Chris Archer's past four starts overall.
The Mariners nearly erased a 10-2 deficit in the final two innings, falling 10-9 in Arlington on Monday night. The left run-line bettors of the Rangers crying themselves to sleep after a terrible beat. LHP Tommy Milone and RHP Lance Lynn will square off on Tuesday. The M's are a dismal 2-12 across the past 14 road games, while going 7-19 in the past 26 games overall. They're also just 2-7 across the past nine road games vs. RHP. The Rangers have won five of the past six voerall, and they're 5-1 in the past six at home and 4-1 in the past five at home vs. LHP, too. They're also 5-2 in the past seven starts by Lynn, as well.
Weather Report
The Phillies and Cubs will be battling a stiff wind from 18-21 mph blowing in from the right-field bleachers into the face of the batters. The Nationals and Mets will also be dealing with strong winds gusting from 12-15 mph from the left-center field power alley into the home-plate area.
In Arlington, the Mariners and Rangers will be battling stiff winds from 11-14 mph blowing right to left, knocking down balls off the bats of left-handed hitters. For the Interstate 70 interleague series, the Royals and Cardinals will be playing a game of beat the clock. Winds will be gusting right to left anywhere from 17-22 mph, but the big story is the rain moving in by 9pm CDT.
The Braves and Giants will also be dealing with a stiff wind from 18-21 mph, blowing out to the right-center field power alley. Winds will also affect the Twins and Angels, blowing out 12-15 mph to right field. The Diamondbacks and Padres will be facing winds of 15-18 mph blowing in from left-center field to home.
Wednesday, May 22
The Reds and Brewers conclude their NL Central set on Wednesday afternoon at Miller Park. The Reds are 5-1 in their past six against right-handed starting pitchers, and 6-2 in the past eight starts by Castillo against teams with a winning overall mark. For the Brwers, they're 4-1 in the past five outings by RHP Zach Davies, and 18-6 across the past 24 outings at home against teams with a losing overall mark. They're also 7-3 in his past 10 outings overall.
In Queens it's a tremendous pitching matchup with RHPs Max Scherzer and Jacob deGrom squaring off. Oddly enough, the Nats are just 1-6 over Scherzer's past seven outings, while going 2-7 in the past nine road games overall for Washington. The Nats are struggling, but they're still 39-16 in Scherzer's past 55 inside the division, so perhaps he'll pull them out of their slide. New York enters this one just 1-10 across the past 11 during Game 3 of a series. They're also struggling with their ace on the hill, cashing in just seven of deGrom's past 25 starts, mostly due to a lack of offensive support. They're also 1-6 over his past seven starts overall.
The Braves and Giants do battle, and Atlanta looks to improve on their 6-2 mark over the past eight road games vs. RHP. They're also 5-1 in the past six starts by LHP Max Fried while working on four days of rest. San Francisco enters just 1-8 over RHP Jeff Samardzija's past nine outings against NL East clubs, and 7-16 in his past 23 overall. The Giants have also cashed in just 11 of Samardzija's past 40 starts overall against winning clubs.
