MISS MONIQUE - I like when a race sets up this way. This filly has the lone pace to crush this field. The jockey/conditioner duo of Ceballos and Lucarelli has a strong ROI together. Taking a trip down the ladder based on class; has the ability to make her presence felt. WAISILIVA - Always be wary of the longer priced equine when a trainer has an 'uncoupled' entry in a race. Orozco's agent must relish anytime Wright gives them a mount; win percent together is tremendous. This racer coming off a solid contest in the last month is a solid contender in my humble opinion. The 65 most recent race speed rating looks strong on paper. SHE CHERIE - Carreno comes to ride again after getting to know the filly in the last race. Another way to determine class is (EPS) earnings per start. This thoroughbred has the top in the bunch. I think she'll be close at the finish line. This thoroughbred coming off a solid contest in the last month is a contender in my book.

Vulnerable Contenders: #5 COASTAL TULIPS (ML=7/2), #7 PERFECT BLOSSOM (ML=9/2), #1 VIETORIA SECRET (ML=8/1),

COASTAL TULIPS - This filly raced very well on May 5th finishing third, but hasn't even visited the track since then. Not really a good sign. I don't like the hard fact that bandages were used on May 5th. PERFECT BLOSSOM - Today's contest is 5 1/2 furlongs. Hasn't hit the board in a sprint affair in the last two months. Not the best of omens. A bit of a lackluster performance when this filly finished fourth. This racer will probably need at least one more run after the lackluster showing following the very long layoff. VIETORIA SECRET - Trying to beat this participant this time out at the value of 8/1.

I think FOREST DEW is a very good choice. Sound average speed figures in dirt sprint races make this pony a key contender. Reason to like this mare as she has in the irons one of the best jocks using winning percentages over the last month. She looks quite good in this spot and I expect will be on the lead or close at the midpoint. ANNA MAY OUR QUEEN - With better than average trips to the winner's circle, Gonzalez ought to have this mare in excellent position to win the race. Gonzalez will most likely be able to get this mare to break out quickly for this race. VIBRANT GINGER - Kreiser has a reliable 29 percent win rate with entries running at this distance and surface. Should definitely be carefully examined in this competition if only for the respectable Equibase Speed Fig garnered in the last contest.

Hard to pass on this filly with Cruz in the irons. WEEKEND FLYER - A nice return on investment of +1 with this rider and handler combo. IT'S THE ICE (GB) - A definite class advantage goes to this horse. A pretty good sign he will be very competitive in this grass race. Finished ahead of today's favorite in the last race at Golden Gate Fields. Can do the same again in this field. Finished fourth at Golden Gate Fields last out. Was close at the end and at odds of 6/1 in this event, he looks like a possible contender. KING EDDIE - This gelding is almost always in the top three. Jockey hops back aloft after getting to know the horse by riding last time around the track. That's always a good indicator. McCanna brings him right back. I suggest you stick with this hot gelding.

Vulnerable Contenders: #5 KATIE'S COWBOY (ML=9/5), #4 MAXINAMILLION (ML=2/1), #2 LOLLY EXPRESS (ML=8/1),

KATIE'S COWBOY - Didn't meet expectations as the public's choice twice. Could be tough for this mount to beat this group off of that last speed figure. Doubtful to improve enough to run a figure close to today's Equibase class figure, so put him on the possibly overvalued contestants list. MAXINAMILLION - If he goes off anywhere close to the oddsmaker's morning line of 2/1, I'll have to pass. LOLLY EXPRESS - I'd like to see more conducive recent outings with morning line odds of 8/1. Can't make a habit of betting on horses that rarely win. Finished fourth in his most recent performance with a disappointing speed figure. When I look at today's Equibase class figure, it would take an improved performance to score after that in this bunch.
