FRESH SNUFF - I can't ignore the fact that this filly is working extremely well. Filly is a first timer whose last three morning works were on this track. This horse comes out of a sharp barn for first time starters. Boutte has a very solid ROI (+53 percent).

YOUGOTANOTION - This filly hasn't had any in the money efforts in sprint contests in the last couple of months. The speed rating in the last race doesn't fit very well in this race when I look at the Equibase class figure of today's race. Mark this mount as a questionable challenger. GABY'S PROMISE - Finished second in her most recent effort with a most unsatisfactory speed figure. When I look at today's Equibase class figure, it would take an improved performance to score after that in this bunch. MY LITTLE JOHARA - Not likely that the speed fig she earned on July 25th will hold up in this clash.

My choice here is CHIEF RED BULL. Is a solid contender - given the 80 speed rating from his most recent race. Looks quite good for the conditions of this affair today, showing solid numbers in dirt sprint races lately. Has raced admirably in dirt sprint races. I WILL STAND - Don't let this colt slip past you. Could win at a juicy mutuel. Will make a good outing versus this field. SLOVAK POWER - May best this group of animals here, showing solid figures of late. Ran a strong last race.

ARATHORN - Trainer Johnson moves this one down in class ranks to face much lower class horses. Look for a sharp race at this level. Running on the grass today, you should review a horse's class. This one has the top number in the bunch. The 94 latest race speed rating looks strong in the TrackMaster PPs. TROUBLE X TWO - You always have to be on the watch for profit making rider/trainer combos; we have one right here. Based on this gelding's recent efforts, he should benefit from this shorter distance. This gelding is rounding his way back into shape. Should perform well today. Just missed hitting the board on July 15th at Mountaineer Park. With decent morning line odds in this event, he has my interest. BOOTSCUTENBOGE - Rider jumped on this gelding's back for the 1st ride on Jul 1st. Should be in tune with the animal even better today. Was in a $15,000 Optional Claiming race at Mountaineer Park in the last race. That clash had an Equibase class figure of 94 and he is moving down in this race. A certain serious competitor. RIPINANDATEARIN - In this race here, this horse has notched the highest speed rating at the distance, so I have to give him the edge. This thoroughbred coming off a solid try in the last month or so is a serious competitor in my humble opinion.

MAJESTIC DESERT - Much too far back on Jul 28th for me to bet on at the probable odds in today's sprint clash. Caution must be used since bandages were added on Jul 28th. FREEDONIA - The lack of works has to make one concerned despite the good performance in the last event. Don't feel this mount will make an impact in today's event. That last speed figure was mediocre when compared with today's class figure. BLACK CIRCLE - You think this horse is going to finish first just because he's always close. Just doesn't finish on top often. Didn't show much last time out of the box. Probably won't make an impact today. Won't be easy for this mount to beat this bunch off of that last rating. Improbable to improve enough to run a figure close to today's Equibase class figure, so put him on the vulnerable competitors list.
