Wednesday comp play on the Yankees and the Orioles to head Over the total on more time at Camden Yards.
Last night was the 9th series meeting of the year in Baltimore's yard, and it also marked the 9th game played their that landed Over the total, as the Yankees continued to knock the cover off of the baseball with another 9 runs plated.
For New York, they have now gone Over the total in 14 of their last 17 games played, while for Baltimore they are currently on an 8-3-1 Over run of their own in their last dozen games played.
James Paxton owns an ERA near 9 for his last 3 starts, 2 of the 3 landing Over, and he has seen the Over go 11-7-1 when he starts this year.
John Means sports an ERA of 6.46 for his last 3 starts, as 2 of those 3 starts have also landed Over the total.
It makes no sense to me to expect the hitting to all of the sudden simply stop tonight, especially with these 2 struggling hurlers trying to regain their form.
Yankees-Orioles make it a perfect 10-for-10 Over at Camden Yards this season.

My complimentary winner is on the over in the Kansas City-Boston game.
Since every MLB wager on a run line or total auto-lists pitchers, I want you to be sure the two pitchers on your ticket, when making this play, are Glenn Sparkman and Eduardo Rodriguez. If they are not the pitchers of record when making your play, disregard this play.
Sparkman is in for another long night, after he just gave up six hits and six runs over 4 2/3 innings against the hard-hitting Minnesota Twins last Friday during an 11-9 loss. The right-hander, walked three and struck out four against the Twins, now has to face a playoff-seeking Red Sox team that has the second-best home batting average (.355) in baseball.
Sparkman is 3-7 with a 5.58 ERA and is going to struggle to keep the ball in the park tonight.
As for Rodriguez, he steps to the hill after giving up a grand slam to the New York Yankees' Gleyber Torres in the first inning of his last start. I know he is 9-2 with a 3.35 ERA in his last 13 starts, but over his last two starts - both against New York - he's given up seven earned runs on 12 hits and nine walks in 12 1/3 innings, producing a 5.12 ERA.
No, the Royals aren't the Yankees, but we just need them to put a 4- or 5-spot up to help the total run high.
Take this one over.

COMPLIMENTARY WINNER
The Chicago Cubs will be my free winner today, as I love them against the Oakland Athletics. And be sure you're listing Homer Bailey and Jose Quintana.
I know Bailey has been consistent since arriving from Kansas City, but I also know how inconsistent he can be dating back to his days with the Cincinnati Reds.
Bailey has made three quality starts in his last four outings, and while you'd think that might give him some momentum as he approaches today at Wrigley Field, where he's 5-3 with a 3.79 ERA in his 10 appearances there, I think the Cubs hitters will be happy to see him. His overall career ERA against the Cubs is 4.86 in 20 starts, and the 15 home runs he's allowed against them is the third most against any team.
I'd rather side with Quintana, as the Cubs have won each of the left-hander's last six starts, with the veteran going 5-0 with a 4.15 ERA in that stretch. Last Friday, Quintana registered a quality start, lasting six innings and allowing two earned runs, in a win over the Brewers.
Take the Cubs today.
