KEATON - Laviolette is back up for another event today after racing atop this horse for the first time on November 11th and ought to know the ropes to this one a little better. The way this race sets up this gelding will be in stalking position when they start the running for real. Don't often see a profitable return on investment like +207. This rider/handler duet has done well together over the last year. With 'blinkers-on' this gelding should be very competitive. Took a big class drop last out, and I think he may have needed it. Buechler enters him at a similar class level today. I'd expect an improved performance. BLUE BOY WHO - Likes to go to the lead and the fact that today is a shorter trip should help. Taking a big drop in class rating points from his October 29th race at Zia Park. Based on that information, I will give this thoroughbred the edge.

EXPECT A CAT - Don't think that this gelding has value at 9/2 today. I AM THE WARRIOR - Didn't hit the board on September 14th at Albuquerque. Followed it up with another lackluster try.

My pick for this race is ADVERSE POSSESSION. In this field, this entrant is at the top in earnings per start in dirt sprint events. Birzer has one of the strongest rider ROI's on the grounds, returning to players +31 percent. Looks very good against this group and will almost certainly be one of the leaders. LETTER RIP - Handler has sharp win rate (15 percent) at this distance and surface.

BACK TOGETHERAGAIN - Was in a $5,000 Claiming race at Thistledown last out. That race had a class figure of 96 and he is moving down in this event. A certain strong challenger. SILVER G T O - Although it's been awhile, this gelding last won at this same class and distance. I think he could run back to that old form today. The November 6th race at Indiana Downs was at a class level of (93). Dropping to a lower level a significant amount, so he should be in a good position to win. This gelding is in fine condition, having run a nice race on Nov 6th, finishing third. BOLD CHROME - Houghton rode this horse for the first time in the last race and comes right back this time around. Looking at today's class rating, this racer is meeting an easier field than in the last race at Thistledown. I like the case that this gelding's last speed rating, 87, is tops in this field. MALIBU WEST - Mahan must have known this gelding would run well at this track. Won his last race here on November 6th and now goes for a double. This gelding is in good condition, having run a nice race on Nov 6th, finishing first. MAGICAL EXPRESS - A thoroughbred coming back this rapidly after a sharp race is a good omen. Gelding won on June 25th at this class and distance. Took a class drop in the last race at Mahoning Valley Race Cour. Skerrett keeps him at the same level in this race. I think that's a good move.

RED CHILL - The morning-line choice is vulnerable here with the lack of drills. OPEN OUT - A strong thoroughbred that's been running well, but he's been off the track in the mornings recently. B DUBYA - This pony ran a common speed fig last race out. He shouldn't run much better and will likely lose in today's event running that fig.
