While teams playing a road game after a bye has been a strong trend, I think we have to go with the 49ers here. They've been the better all-around team this year, ranking seventh in points per drive on offense and second on the other side of the ball. The Packers' defense has been hit or miss despite the team's record and, in particular, has struggled to defend the run. That's how the 49ers stacked wins early in the season, and I expect them to return to that strategy in this matchup. That will help alleviate injury concerns in the passing game as well, and if the 49ers' talented D-line does its job, the home team should win.

What are we doing here? This is Bill Belichick vs. Jason Garrett in Foxborough and we don't even have to lay a full touchdown? I'm not worried at all about Tom Brady's health after he popped up on the injury report as questionable this week, and I certainly think the Patriots' No. 1 defense can give Dak Prescott some trouble. The Patriots offense hasn't looked well lately, but the Dallas defense is 20th in DVOA and missing Leighton Vander Esch, so New England should be able to cook up something to score some points. The Patriots D is too good to let teams in the backdoor, allowing just two offensive TDs in the second half all year.

The Browns' weakness on defense is defending the run, but unfortunately, the Dolphins don't have even the potential of a running game to take advantage. So why take the Dolphins? The Browns are massive favorites coming off a weak of distractions and with a rematch against the Steelers on tap for next week. I can't imagine they'll be focused here, and with Myles Garrett, Larry Ogunjobi and Olivier Vernon out, they won't be able to get their normal pressure on Ryan Fitzpatrick, who can easily get us a backdoor cover if we need it.

The normally great Eagles offensive line could be in for some trouble this week, as Lane Johnson has been ruled out and rookie Andre Dillard, a natural left tackle, is slated to fill in. The Seahawks will be fresh coming off their bye, and I like that we're following a good trend of road teams off the bye here. The Eagles defense has taken a big step forward over the last three weeks, but the offenses of the Pats, Bears and Bills aren't on the caliber of Russell Wilson's unit, which is first in pass DVOA and fourth overall. Don't fret the schedule change either, as Seattle is 9-1 in their last 10 games at 1 p.m. ET.

The Titans offense has hit its stride since Ryan Tannehill took over under center, scoring 105 points in its last four games. But Tennessee's defense has at the same time taken a step back, allowing the exact same number of points while giving up 365-plus yards in each of those four games. That will help a Jacksonville offense that struggled in Nick Foles' first game back but should see better times ahead. Jaguars-Titans games have been lower-scoring in recent years, but they've also involved the likes of Blake Bortles, Marcus Mariota and Cody Kessler. The improved QB play should get us well over the total.

While those performances have come against bad defenses, they're facing another one this week in the Raiders, who rank 29th in points per drive on a defense that has struggled on the road. Oakland has won three straight but none of those wins were that convincing and all came at home. The Raiders offense has success by leaning on the rushing attack (eighth in the NFL in rush attempts, 28th in pass attempts), but now has to face a team that allows a league-best 3.0 yards per carry. Throw in a lookahead angle with the Raiders facing the Chiefs next week, and it's a bad spot for them.

After what we've seen from the Steelers offense in recent weeks, they have no business going on the road and laying nearly a touchdown to anyone, even the worst team in the league. Mason Rudolph has shown he can't have success without a good support system in place, but James Conner, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Maurkice Pouncey are all missing for this game. There's also a good chance the Steelers won't be fully prepared to handle a desperate Bengals team after a week of distractions. Cincy can employ a run game and defense strategy to keep this game close and even pull off their first win of the season.

But I think they'll have trouble getting up for this game after watching a 20-0 halftime lead slip away last week. Brandon Allen has had his moments but he's still completing less than half of his pass attempts, and I worry about whether he'll be able to pick apart a good Bills secondary. I give the QB edge to Josh Allen coming off his best start, and since it seems like the Bills are a better version of the Broncos and this game is in Buffalo, this line feels light.

That should allow the Dolphins to score into the 20s as Ryan Fitzpatrick shouldn't feel much pressure. On the other side, the Dolphins defensive line has the worst adjusted sack rate in the league, so a Browns O-line that has had its issues throughout the year shouldn't be tested much either. These teams should blow past this total, but if needed we should get garbage-time scoring to push us over.

I'm well aware of how bad Washington is, with a double-digit loss streak that would be longer if not for a monsoon. But how can we not fade Jeff Driskel and a bad Lions team that's on the road and laying more than a field goal? The Detroit defense has given up 440+ yards in four of their last six games since their bye, and they rank 30th in third-down percentage and 28th in red zone percentage. They also rank 27th in adjusted sack rate. Basically, if there's any situation where Washington scores points, it should be this week. Derrius Guice sparks the offense to a win at home against another bad team.

The Steelers offense rolls into this game pretty banged up after a brutal Thursday game against the Browns, which could leave underwhelming options at the skill positions. Maurkice Pouncey's suspension should also make things easier for Geno Atkins, who's coming off a strong game against the Raiders. On the other side of the ball, it's hard to see how a terrible Cincinnati offense that managed just 73 yards of passing offense against a poor Oakland defense could have any success against a good Pittsburgh defense. I don't know if you can make this total low enough not to have value on the Under.

The Rams offense has limped through their last two games since the bye, and while their defense has been excellent, Lamar Jackson presents a unique challenge. This line is going up, and while it's smart to lock it in now and get Ravens -3, the Rams don't have a great home-field advantage and I expect the Ravens to cover even at whatever the closing line is. They're just playing that well

1-Unit Play. Take #701 Hofstra (-3) over Cal-Fullerton (8 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 24)
If Hofstra is good enough to beat UCLA< they are good enough to beat Fullerton. I know that this is a killer letdown spot for The Pride. But Joe Mihalich is a real fiery, feisty coach. He won't let his guys slip too much after that big win. The core of this team is still the one that was on the cusp of going to the NCAA Tournament last year. These guys can play. Fullerton, on the other hand, just lost too much from last year's team. They don't have nearly the backcourt pop and I don't think they will have much of a home court edge here.

2-Unit Play. Take #711 Villanova (-1.5) over Baylor (5 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 24)
I've seen Villanova win way too many of these types of games to doubt them here. I really like this Baylor team. I intend to use them often in Big 12 play this year. However, I still think the Wildcats will get this one. Villanova is 21-6 ATS in neutral site games. That's 21-6! They are 46-22 ATS against teams with a winning record and a ridiculous 43-17 ATS in nonconference games. This will be really good game. But I'm siding with the Cats.

4-Unit Play. Take #728 LSU (-6) over Rhode Island (2:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 24)
I am not big into this this Rhode Island team. They are solid. They will be a player in the A-10. But I think they are a bit overvalued. This team is really, really shaky offensively. They are getting a lot of credit for that blowout win over Alabama earlier in the year. But Alabama stinks. They have a new coach. And that game was at URI and obviously meant a lot more to the Rams than it did the Crimson Tide. That won't be the case here. LSU already has two losses. They are coming off a brutal loss to Utah State in the opener of this tournament. They had a 19-point lead over an NCAA Tournament-caliber Utah State squad, and choked it away. That loss may linger with the Tigers. But if Will Wade is as good of a coach as I believe he is, he will have his guys ready to go today and they will dig in against an inferior opponent.

2-Unit Play. Take #731 Arizona State (+8.5) over Virginia (1 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 24)
Arizona State was really rusty in the first half of yesterday's game against St. John's. However, once they got their legs under them in the second half they buried a bad team, outscoring them by 22 in the second half. I think that ASU will be sharp from the beginning here against Virginia. The Cavaliers are still a solid team. But they aren't nearly as good as they were last year, They can still grind defensively. But they are erratic offensively. And I think that ASU is good enough to make shots and generate offense against the Cavs. Virginia may end up winning this game, but I don't see them getting a blowout.

2-Unit Play. Take #737 Missouri State (+3) over Buffalo (3:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 24)
I think the wrong team is favored. Buffalo lost as much talent and experience as any team in the country from last year. They are a completely different team with a different coach. The Bulls still have very good guards. But I think that Missouri State will be able to match them on the perimeter and will be able to best them on the inside. Now that MSU has Gaige Prim they have a legit go-to guy on the inside. Missouri State is just 3-3, but all three losses have come by four points or less. I think that they win this one outright.

3-Unit Play. Take #741 Florida (-1.5) over Xavier (8;30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 24)
Florida looked really good against Miami. If they play like that here, they should be able to bury Xavier. The Musketeers play really hard and are a tough veteran squad. But they lack high-end talent and their offense is just too inconsistent. Their two best wins of the season both came in overtime against Missouri and Connecticut. Florida is better than both of those teams. I still think the Gators are overrated. However, there is a reason that they were in the preseason Top 10. They have rolled their first two opponents and are clearly the best team in this tournament. I think they get the title with a win here.

1-Unit Play. Take #7781 LIU-Brooklyn (+24) over Texas Tech (2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 24)
I actually think that Long Island can hang around here. I think that Texas Tech is overrated. This is still a good team. But they are nowhere near as good as they were last year. The Red Raiders have played the worst schedule in the country to this point. That's not an opinion; their schedule rank is No. 350. And, shockingly, LIU represents the best opponent they have faced all year. The kids are gone for Thanksgiving break so Tech should have less of a crowd behind them. And the Red Raiders may be looking ahead to their holiday tournament in Las Vegas this week. I think that they can cruise to an 18- or 20-point win here, but I don't see them burying the needle for a 30-point blowout.
