This is a bad spot for the Miami Heat. They will be playing the 2nd of a back-to-back after beating the Raptors 84-76 at home last night. They won’t have much left in the tank for the Orlando Magic on the road tonight.
The Magic had yesterday off following their 122-101 throttling of the Washington Wizards on the road Wednesday. Now the Magic are back home where they are a solid 10-7 this season, while the Heat are just 9-8 on the road.
Plays against all teams where the line is +3 to -3 (Miami) - a good shooting team (45.5-47.5%) against a poor shooting team (41.5-43.5%) after a game where they made 12 or more 3-pointers are 28-8 (77.8%) ATS over the last five seasons.
Orlando is 13-3 ATS after scoring 120 points or more over the last two seasons. The Magic are 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings with the Heat. Bet the Magic Friday.

I'll take my chances here with the Pirates as a 6.5-point home favorite against the Hoyas. Seton Hall got their star player, Myles Powell back from injury in their last game and he scored 27 to help the Pirates defeat a good DePaul team 74-66 on the road.
Georgetown was without the services of one of their best players in their last game, as guard Mac McClung missed the game and the Hoyas lost 76-60 at Providence in a game that was far more lopsided than the final. McClung is their second leading scorer and without him they have just 6 active scholarship players. He's questionable to play, but seeing how he hasn't practiced, I don't think he plays.
That's a problem, as leading scorer, Omer Yurtseven could have a hard time here against the big frontcourt of the Pirates. Even if McClung plays, the likely struggles of Yurtseven in this one make Seton Hall a good bet to win by 7 or more at home. Give me the Pirates -6.5!

I think CHRONIQUEUR is a decent choice. Has to be considered versus this field displaying very good figs lately and an average Equibase Speed Fig of 72 under similar conditions. The average Equibase class rating alone makes this entrant a contender. He has been running admirably and the speed figs are among the top in this group of horses. SECOND GUESS - Reliable average speed figures in dirt route races make this equine a definite contender. He has a formidable distance/surface win record - 1 for 5. OUTRUN - The average Equibase class figure alone makes this horse a key contender.

WHOA NESSIE - Lone speed horses can be tough to run down. Here's a lone speedball facing sluggish sorts today. Another way to evaluate class is earnings per start. This racer has the uppermost in the field. I think she'll be close at the finish line. ATINA (ARG) - Always beware of the longer priced equine when a trainer has an 'uncoupled' entry in a race. Lets try to beat the low-odds horses with this mare. Just missed last out, but ran a pretty good race. HURLEY - I like that last outing on December 14th at Golden Gate Fields where she ended up fifth. Gonzalez and Wong perform well when they work together. It's hard to beat a +60 ROI for a jockey and trainer.

JUST FOR ROSE - Based on the information I have, he's a solid closer. May be worth a few greenbacks. Ran last time around the track against much better horses at Woodbine. The move to a lower level should suit him well. A repeat of that last performance on Nov 9th where he notched a speed rating of 60 looks high enough to triumph in this race. While the finish was disappointing, this horse made a good stretch move last time around the track at Woodbine. Will most certainly do better in this event.

GAME BREAK - I'd like to see better recent efforts with morning line odds of 5/2. I don't normally play a morning-line choice that hasn't been to the track in the last two to three weeks. WILDCAT CURA - This gelding registered a speed figure in his last event which probably isn't good enough today. SPORTING ART - 5/1 odds isn't enough for this thoroughbred when examining the most recent efforts.

Will almost certainly compete admirably in the early pace clash which bodes well with this group of animals.
