      College Basketball - March 7, 2020
      3 Units - #623 George Mason (-1.5) over Fordham *2 EST
Very cheap line here and I am laying this on the road with GM. Fordham has a starter out here and bear in mind Fordham scores 58 ppg on the season and they can ill afford to lose anyone. Neither team is going to light the scoreboard up here but Fordham's last 5 games they have shot 38% from the floor. I look for teams and use a chart to track teams shooting less than 40% in a last 5 game scenario. Fading those teams is highly profitable. Fordham is 2-15 in conference play and George Mason is flat out a better team.

6 Units - #308318 UM Balt. County (-2.5) over New Hampshire *1 EST
You may remember Maryland Baltimore County from a few years ago, they knocked off #1 seed Virginia in the March Madness field that season and made a run. They are making one again winning 6 out of their last 8, and they are in a home court conference tourney game in the American East against New Hampshire here who is 4-13 on the road and UMBC is 11-4 at home. I have this number at -8. For UMBC, Jackson, Horvath and Owens are a huge front court for this conference and are clicking on all cylinders. They will dominate the paint and win this one going away.

      3 Units - #736 Missouri St (-3.5) over Valpo *6 EST
Mizzou St is red hot and just buried Indiana St yesterday, they have been one of the hottest teams in the Mo Valley the past 3 weeks. Valpo off a huge upset in OT last night against Loyola (#2 seed) as a #7 seed in this tourney. Two things at play here. Mo State is dialed in, and I like fading teams off an OT win in a huge upset where the spent all their energy coming back from 18 points down. These 2 split in the regular season and Valpo beat up Mo State about 2 weeks ago as a 1 point favorite, and I like the revenge spot here as well.

      In depth featured pick

MURRAY ST. VS BELMONT | 3/07 | 8:00 PM EST
            11:01 AM
OHIO VALLEY CHAMPIONSHIP GAME -- The OVC championship game brings together its two highest-scoring teams, a scenario in which Unders often prevail in a do-or-die matchup. Belmont has been Under in five straight, and its semifinal result had a paltry 110 points. Though their first meeting this season produced an Over, the rematch landed at 135, well below the total. Coach Casey Alexander, in his debut season, could excessively tighten the reins on the Bruins in his first conference finale.

Welcome back, F John Petty. Alabama’s best player has sat out most or all of the last three games. Two were straight-up defeats, the latter a stunner at home against Vanderbilt. The three-point ace should help the Crimson Tide maintain their No. 2 national scoring ranking at 83.1 points a game. Mizzou, which averages 67.1 (254th), will struggle to keep up offensively. The Tide thrives on the road, having gone 8-2 ATS in their last 10 outings.

              Robert Ferringo NCAA Basketball
1-Unit Play. Take #601 Villanova (-8) over Georgetown (Noon, Saturday, March 7)
The sad part about Georgetown's season is that if they had stayed at full strength they would've been an NCAA Tournament team. Instead, they are now playing without their three best players, their top two scorers, and they are down five scholarship players. No team could withstand that. The Hoyas are still playing hard. But it looks like Mac McClung and Omer Yurtseven are out again today. The Hoyas are basically down to six healthy bodies and those guys have been racking up huge minutes over the last few weeks. I don't think they will have anything in the tank and will likely be saving whatever they do have for the Big East Tournament. Villanova is motivated because they are playing for a piece of the regular season title. I don't see this being a close game.

              1-Unit Play. Take #616 Florida (-2.5) over Kentucky (1 p.m., Saturday, March 7)
Florida buried a very good Auburn team in this gym and I think that they can do the same thing to Kentucky. I just don't think that the Wildcats are as good as they have played. Just to prove how shaky they are they lost at home to a weak Tennessee team earlier this week. This Wildcats team can't shoot at all and they barely held off the Gators in Lexington in the first meeting. I don't love this Florida team; I think they were the most overrated team in college basketball this year. But I think they will dial it up for this one.

              1-Unit Play. Take #638 USC (-3) over UCLA (3 p.m., Saturday, March 7)
UCLA has won seven straight games, and nine of 11, out of nowhere. Mick Cronin really is just that good of a coach. However, I think they are in a letdown spot here after their huge win last Saturday over Arizona. USC isn't having it. These guys are outstanding at home and they are at least as talented as the Bruins. They will be amped up to potentially snap this Bruins winning streak. I think they will pull it off.

              1-Unit Play. Take #648 Texas (-3.5) over Oklahoma State (4 p.m., Saturday, March 7)
This number really should've been 8.5. Shaka Smart is a huge loser as a coach. But he has found some magic here down the stretch with his Longhorns winning five straight. The most impressive part is that three of those wins have come on the road. This is a young team. They are beat up and don't have a ton of depth. But they are playing with a ton of heart, something Smart teams have never done in Austin. I think they can close out with a win in their final home game against a Cowboys team that has been terrible on the road all season.

              3-Unit Play. Take #680 Dartmouth (-4.5) over Brown (7 p.m., Saturday, March 7)
Brown was able to get a huge road upset over Harvard last night. For a bad team that is ending its season, that win was like winning a championship for the Bears. Now they have to go on the road and play another game, though, and I don't think they will be nearly as up for this one. Dartmouth will be, though. They couldn't spring the upset on Yale last night. But they are still a solid 5-2 in their last seven games. This is the final home game for this experienced team and they have revenge for a two-point loss at Brown back on Feb. 7. Dartmouth is the better team, at home, with revenge, facing a team in a letdown spot. That's all good enough for me.

1-Unit Play. Take #712 UTSA (Pk) over Marshall (4 p.m., Saturday, March 7)
Marshall is a completely different team on the road than they are at home. And the team that they are on the road is awful. The Herd have been playing much better over the pats month. But they have still lost four of their last five road games and they already lost here in San Antonio once this year, falling 72-63 on Feb. 13. San Antonio is better than its played. And their high-scoring backcourt should find plenty of space to do damage today against a weak Marshall defense.

3-Unit Play. Take #720 Florida International (-1) over Western Kentucky (7 p.m., Saturday, March 7)
I think that this is a huge letdown spot for Western Kentucky. They have been riding the lightning over the last few weeks, with three of their last four games going to overtime and the other game being decided on a buzzer beater. WKU had a chance at the regular season title evaporate last week with a tough loss at North Texas in overtime. They are basically locked into their seeding for the league tournament next week and I think that they will start looking ahead to that tournament. So they are in a letdown spot after a disappointing, emotional OT loss at North Texas and they are in a look ahead spot with the conference tourney on deck. Smack in between they have to travel down to Florida to face a very capable Florida International team. FIU already beat WKU here on Feb. 1 and I think they will do it again. The Panthers have lost four of their last five games. But four of their last five have also been on the road and three of those five have come against La. Tech and North Texas. They are better than they've played, they are experienced, and they shoot well enough to turn people's lights out. For WKU, it is a question of depth as much as motivation. These guys have no bench. They basically only play six guys and three players average 34 or more minutes. Why burn them out in this meaningless game?

              7-Unit Play. Take #732 UNC-Greensboro (-6) over Chattanooga (8:30 p.m., Saturday, March 7)
This line is going to go up. I recommend it up to 7.0. UNC-Greensboro has been a force in the SoCon Tournament during the career of James Dickey. The four-year starting center has made it to the finals three times in three tries, winning in 2018. I don't see Dickey's career ending with a loss in this first round. UNC-Greensboro has been kind of a forgotten team in the SoCon over the last two seasons. Teams like Wofford, Furman and ETSU have gotten more love, but the Spartans have arguably been just as good. This team has a lot of talent. They beat Georgetown (at full strength) on the road, won at Vermont, nearly beat N.C. State, and gave Kansas a game all this season. Chattanooga has overachieved this year. Coach Lamont Paris has done a great job. But this group has gone 22-43 the last two seasons and they are swimming out of their depth. These two teams just met last Saturday with Chattanooga earning the emotional comeback win. I simply do not see them beating Greensboro twice in one week.

2-Unit Play. Take #743 Denver (+11.5) over North Dakota State (7 p.m., Saturday, March 7)

              1-Unit Play. 5-POINT TEASER: Take #664 Duke (-5.5) over North Carolina (6 p.m.) AND Take #674 Arizona State (-4.5) over Washington State (6:30 p.m.)

1-Unit Play. 5-POINT TEASER: Take #601 Villanova (-3) over Georgetown (Noon) AND Take #676 Providence (-5) over DePaul (6:30 p.m.)

              1-Unit Play. 5-POINT TEASER: Take #635 Seton Hall (+8.5) over Creighton (2:30 p.m.) AND Take #676 Providence (-5) over DePaul (6:30 p.m.)
              Carpe diem. Good luck.

UTAH ST. VS SAN DIEGO ST | 3/07 | 5:30 PM EST
MOUNTAIN WEST FINAL -- At its best, Utah State might have a chance in this game, and winning it is likely the Aggies' only hope for making the big dance. But uninspiring efforts, to say the least, against New Mexico and Wyoming don't inspire a lot of confidence. The Aztecs have looked sluggish as well, but they were in vintage form in the second half Friday night against Boise State. With a possible No. 1 seed at stake, look for them to pull away and cover this one.

The Rams were embarrassed by Dayton in their biggest game of the year. Now, they will likely need to win this one and make a strong showing in the A-10 tournament in order to hear their name called on selection Sunday. UMass has a promising youth-laden club and perhaps the conference's top big man in freshman Tre Mitchell. But the Minutemen have a disadvantage in depth and in backcourt play. A desperate Rhode Island club should take this one.

6-Unit Play #706 Portland State -4 over Sacramento State (Saturday, March 7 at 10:00 PM ET)
Take Portland State ATS as my top college basketball pick for Saturday night. This pick falls into one my top college basketball systems and this is a perfect revenge spot for Portland State here tonight. Sacramento State has averaged just 59.4 points per game on the road this season while shooting just 39.2% as a team. Opponents have shot 51.2% against Sacramento state over their last 5 games and Portland State has averaged 84.1 points per game at home this season while shooting 47.4% as a team. Portland State lost on the road by 11 points to Sacramento State back on January 23 as they turned over the ball 23 times while Sacramento had just 10 turnovers and you can expect that to change here tonight. Portland State did hold Sacramento state to shooting just 33% against them but turnovers cost them that victory. Portland State is also a red-hot team having won 5 straight games while also covering the spread in all 5 games. Play Portland State ATS
