MLB | TEX vs OAK
Play on: OVER 8½ -115
RANGERS VS ATHLETICS FREE PICK AUGUST 6, 2020
The Oakland Athletics have scored a total of 22 runs through their last three games. I don't see them having any trouble scoring off Mike Minor (0-2, 5.91 ERA) who was tagged with 16 runs through 16 innings of work against Oakland last season.
When Minor has had enough, he'll hand over the ball to the worst bullpen in the American League (6.75 ERA).
As for the A's starter, right-hander Mike Fiers (0-0, 5.40 ERA) made four starts against Texas last season and allowed 11 runs on 16 hits through 20 2/3 innings of work.
Over is 5-1 in Rangers last 6 overall and 9-2 in their last 11 games as an underdog. Free pick on OVER 8.5.

MLB | Rangers vs A's
Play on: A's -150 at Mirage
Jack’s Free Pick Thursday: Oakland A’s -150
The Oakland A’s have won five straight coming in and are proving once again to be contenders in the American League. They take on the hapless Texas Rangers, who are 3-7 this season and hitting just .194 as a team.
Mike Fiers threw 8 shutout innings in an 8-0 victory in his last start against Texas in September of 2019. He has allowed just 12 base runners and one homer over 10 innings pitched thus far in 2020 for a 1.200 WHIP.
Mike Minor has struggled to start 2020, going 0-2 with a 5.90 ERA and 1.406 WHIP in two starts. Minor certainly does not enjoy facing the A’s, going 2-3 with a 5.56 ERA in six career starts against them.
In 2019 alone, Minor went 0-3 with a 9.56 ERA in three starts against Oakland, giving up 17 earned runs and 6 homers in 16 innings. Bet the A’s Thursday.

NBA | Heat vs Bucks
Play on: Bucks -8½ -110 at YouWager
My free play is on the Mil Bucks at 4:05 ET.
The Milwaukee Bucks have the league's best record at 54-14 but have lost two of their three games in Orlando. However, one also needs to note that Milwaukee had lost THREE straight prior to the shutdown, as well as four of its last five (that's 2-6 its last eight). The Bucks have already clinched the East's No. 1 seed and with all postseason games also being played in Orlando, it matters little if they own a better record than the Lakers if those teams were to meet in The Finals. The Heat were without five-time All-Star Jimmy Butler (sore right ankle) on Tuesday but they still beat Boston 112-106 Miami is currently 43-25, two back of Boston for the East's No. 3 seed 112-106. Lurking right behind Miami is Indiana (one back ) and Philly (two back).
Kelly Olynyk replaced Butler in the starting lineup and produced 15 points, a game-high eight assists and six rebounds in the win over Boston. Bam Adebayo had 21 & 12, Duncan Robinson had 21 points on 5-of-11 shooting from three-point range and Goran Dragic scored 20 points. However, Dragic limped off the court with five seconds left in the game. X-rays were negative and the Heat are calling it a slight sprain (his status for tonight is unknown).
The Bucks suffered a stunning 119-116 loss to the undermanned Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday. The Nets were 19-point underdogs, making the game the NBA's largest point spread upset in 27 years (according to ESPN, teams favored by 19 or more were 49-2 SU over the past 30 years,). A closer look into that loss reveals that Giannis only played the first half as head coach Mike Budenholzer decided to rest some of his starters. In fact, no Bucks starter played more than 20 minutes against Brooklyn. There was good news though, as guards Eric Bledsoe and Pat Connaughton returned. Bledsoe is averaging 15.3 PPG & 5.4 APG, while Connaughton is averaging 5.1 PPG off the bench.
I have to believe the Bucks will have MUCH more focus here (off that embarrassing loss to the Nets) and extra motivation should come in the fact that the Heat are 2-0 vs Milwaukee this season. Lay the points!
Good luck...Larry
