Kyle Hendricks takes the ball for the Cubs on Monday in the opener of a doubleheader against the Cardinals. Most sportsbooks didn't post the line for this game Sunday night.

MLB betting odds are on the board and getting attention for a 13-game Monday schedule. Among the highlights is a doubleheader between the NL Central-leading Cubs and rival Cardinals, while the Athletics – currently with the best record in the majors – travel to face the Diamondbacks.

Multiple oddsmakers provided insights on MLB opening lines and early line movement, sharp money and public betting for Monday’s games.

MLB line movement

The Cubs (13-6) owned MLB’s best record heading into the weekend, but lost three in a row to the visiting Brewers, including a 6-5 Sunday setback. Chicago hopes to end that skid by sending out Kyle Hendricks (3-1, 3.08 ERA) for a 5:15 p.m. ET opener of a home twinbill against St. Louis. The Cubs’ starter is set too – Kwang-Hyun Kim – but the line for this game was not posted Sunday.

Oakland is now 16-6, winning at a .727 clip after going 13-2 in its last 15 games. The A’s meet the Diamondbacks in a 9:40 p.m. ET start, and Bet365 opened at Oakland -115/Arizona -105.

The Yankees look to sweep a four-game set against the dismal division rival Red Sox, in a 7:05 p.m. ET first pitch. Caesars opened at New York -157/Boston +147, and there was no line movement by late Sunday night.

MLB public betting

The Yankees were runaway early leaders in Monday Consensus plays, landing 86 percent of picks Sunday night. Interestingly, the streaking A’s were drawing only 56 percent of early Consensus plays. Perhaps that’s because Oakland is facing Arizona’s Zac Gallen, who’s still 0-0 after four starts but sports a solid 2.74 ERA.

The Bruins and Hurricanes get together Monday night for Game 4 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series. Caesars sportsbooks opened Boston a -110 favorite and moved to -125 Sunday.

NHL betting odds are up for another quartet of conference quarterfinal matchups. The Bruins and Hurricanes land in Monday's prime-time slot for Game 4, and the defending Stanley Cup champion Blues are in a nightcap Game 4 against the Canucks.

Caesars sportsbooks provided insights on NHL opening lines and early line movement, sharp money and public betting for Monday’s contests.

NHL line movement

The Bruins notched a 3-1 victory in Game 3 to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series, and Boston can gain firm control with a win in this 8 p.m. ET faceoff. Caesars sportsbooks opened Boston a slim -110 favorite Sunday morning, with Carolina -105, but by Sunday afternoon, the line was up to Bruins -125/Hurricanes +110.

St. Louis still has Sunday night work to do, looking to avoid falling into a 3-0 hole against Vancouver, in a 10:30 p.m. ET contest. So Monday’s Game 4, another 10:30 p.m. ET start, likely won’t be posted until Monday morning.
