I like JUNGLE WARRIOR for this event particularly if the morning line of 8/1 holds. Is tough not to examine given the company run in lately. Is tough not to consider based on speed figures which have been respectable - 79 avg - of late. Ran a strong last race. MAJESTIC JAZZ - Might best this field here, showing very good figs of late. Always good to invest in a conditioner with this kind of formidable win percentage - 19 percent - at this distance & surface. QUAD EIGHTS - Looks strong for the conditions of this race today, showing solid figures in dirt sprint races lately. Lately Reid has provided wagerers with a strong winning percentage with horses racing in dirt sprint races.

KATHAK - Coming off a fifth place finish at Delaware Park, some may skip over this horse. I'm not. He just missed hitting the show spot, and has decent odds today. This horse isn't the morning line choice, but finished ahead of today's M/L favorite in his last race (July 25th at Delaware Park). BOAT'S A ROCKIN - Kulp drops him down to this class. You don't need too much more handicapping information to figure that this horse should have a chance to win at this level. Have to give this mount a good look. In recent races, has posted the best speed figs on the turf at this distance. A thoroughbred coming back this quickly after a solid outing is a good omen. A repeat of that latest effort on Aug 5th where he earned a speed figure of 80 looks lofty enough to prove victorious in this race. This thoroughbred has increased his speed ratings in each of the last 2 races. That kind of progress is just want you want for a winner today. Last out on the grass, this horse was solid. Anything close in this field, and this one should win. GLOBAL NATION - Last workout was the second fastest of the day. Certainly on edge for a good one today. Ran in the last race against better company at Meadowlands. The move to a lower level should suit him well.

Pass on this one in today's event versus the tougher group. B DETERMINED - It's a giant leap to win in a Maiden Claiming race and then step up and beat winners.

Dropping significantly in Equibase class figure in today's event puts him in a solid position right here. The last time he tried this distance he got a fig good enough to win this affair.

I back DEFEND THE ROSE here. She has been racing very well lately while recording solid Equibase Speed Figures. Should come out very solid - I have liked the way this filly has moved sharply to the front end recently. Should be considered in this race if only for the very good Equibase Speed Figure posted in the last race. RENTAL POOL - Ran a solid last race. I like the jockey on this filly - very good chance to win the affair. IMMINENT THREAT - Robertson has a strong 15 percent win rate with entries running at this distance and surface. Could provide positive gains based on very good recent Speed Figures with an average of 61.

My Wednesday freebie goes early in the NBA as we play the Nets and the Raptors to land Over the posted total.

On Monday, Brooklyn could not slow down Toronto at all, as the Raptors were able to able to score 134 points and the game sailed well Over the posted total in a 134-110 lopsided blowout to give the defending NBA Champs the 1-0 series lead.

I expect another high-scoring game this afternoon, as Brooklyn has now played Over the total in 3 of their last 4 games in Florida and in 6 of their 9 bubble games overall since heading to the Sunshine State.

Toronto started off in the bubble a little sluggish offensively, as their first 6 games all played Under the total, but the Raptors are averaging 125.3 points per game for their last 3 games, ALL 3 of them landing Over the total.

All 5 Toronto starters were able to score double-digits, including Fred VanVleet who scored a game-high 30 points. In all, 7 Raptors were in double-figures, including Serge Ibaka's 22 points from off the bench!

The Nets are playing without Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, Spencer Dinwiddie and DeAndre Jordan just to name a few, but they were able to have 5 of their players net double-figures. I don't expect Brooklyn to spring any kind of upset here, but I do expect them to be able to score enough to help this game to also land Over the total.

3 of the last 4 series meetings and 5 of the last 8 overall between these Eastern rivals have landed Over and this one does too!
