I'm ready for Comp Winner # 5 of 7, as I head to the NBA bubble.
Bad news for the Boston Celtics, forward Gordon Hayward will be sidelined for around four weeks after suffering a severe right ankle sprain. Good news for Celtics backers, the injury hasn't affected the line and they're still laying points to the Philadelphia 76ers.
Clear trap the books lay, as bettors will jump on the Sixers and take the points. But Hayward is not a make-or-break player. Boston can make adjustments and will be able to win and cover.
I mean, the Celtics did go 14-6 without Hayward this season.
Without him in the lineup, I would think coach Brad Stevens will adjust with a three-guard lineup and will give additional minutes to Marcus Smart, who has played splendidly as Boston’s sixth man. Smart played 32 minutes in Game 1 - just two less than Hayward - and started 40 games during the shortened regular season.
Leading the way tonight will be Jayson Tatum, who scored 32 points to lead Boston to the 109-101 win in Game 1 on Monday. There's also Jaylen Brown, who holds it down in the paint. Tatum is shooting 45% from the floor and comes in with an average of 23.4 points. Brown, meanwhile, has averaged 16.6 points and 5.2 rebounds in the team's last 10 games.
Let's play the Celtics, as they'll move to 2-0 in the series.
