This game looks to pit the Southern Miss offense against a suspect South Alabama defense. Southern Miss Golden Eagles averaged just over 26 ppg last year. However, most of that was through the air as the team struggled on the ground (121st ranked rushing). South Alabama did have trouble stopping the run last year (ranked 98th). So we'll see if Southern Miss looks to establish a rushing game here tonight. South Alabama's offense is pretty much all on the ground.
