    Jerry Shottenkirk's Daily Picks

    Gulfstream Park - Race #0
#1 My Point Exactly Has the vast majority of his career running against better than these; gets a good inside trip today and can be a pace factor at this nine-furlong distance.
#2 Twenty Four Seven On the board in his last five and was a solid second last out; can make a dangerous late run.
#7 Keep Quiet Closed against a slow pace and still finished second last out; takes on stronger company but will be tough if he can run back to his latest.
Race Summary My Point Exactly is the class of this outfit, can adjust to any pace and can get a jump on the deeper closers.
    Gulfstream Park - Race #5
#2 Dr Harlan Romped two races back and then didn't break well last time. He closed ground but still finished fifth. He can get a good stalking trip and might be overlooked.
#3 Love Nest Blew out fields in two of his last four and was third at this level last out; will be rolling early and can be tough throughout.
#4 So Long Chuck Turns back in distance form a win going a mile and can test any of the others on the front end; the shorter distance can be helpful, especially with a faster pace.
Race Summary Dr Harlan is very tough when he gets involved early and can knock heads with these from the outset; will have good odds and could score the mild upset.
    Gulfstream Park - Race #8
#1 Heiressindy Has become a regular in mile races and has had two straight good efforts, once with a win and the latest with a third-place run. Can get an ideal trip and can respond when called upon.
#4 Gibberish Never got involved in the G3 Indiana Oaks last time but was a romping winner here two back; can be a strong player at this mile distance.
#2 Addilyn Shipped to Saratoga and was outrun last time; is back to her home base and can rally vs. these.
Race Summary Heiressindy can get an ideal run inside and will make her move before many of the top contenders; fits well here.

NBA public betting, line movement September 10
            Patrick Everson

The Rockets' Russell Westbrook and the Lakers' Anthony Davis will have plenty to say about how Game 4 of the Western Conference finals plays out Thursday. Los Angeles is -5 at The SuperBook.

NBA betting odds are up for a slimmed-down Thursday playoffs schedule, with just one matchup on the docket. The Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets clash in Game 4 of their Western Conference semifinal series.

The SuperBook at Westgate provided insights on NBA opening lines and early line movement, sharp money and public betting for Thursday’s contest.

            NBA line movement

The Lakers got rolled by 15 points in Game 1, then bounced back with a pair of victories, including a 112-102 win in Game 3 Tuesday night. Los Angeles opened -5 at The SuperBook for Game 4, and there was no line movement as of late Wednesday for a 7 p.m. ET Thursday tipoff.

The total also had zero movement through Wednesday, sticking at 220.5 at The SuperBook.

            NBA public betting

In what’s become a pattern this series, Consensus is showing point-spread support for the underdog Rockets. As of late Wednesday night, there was two-way play, but Houston was attracting 55 percent of picks. The total had a more clear differentiation, with 67 percent of early Consensus picks on the Over.

MLB public betting, line movement September 10
                          Patrick Everson

Gerrit Cole and the Yankees meet the Orioles on Thursday to open a four-game series. New York, aiming to regain its early-season form, is a solid -250 favorite at Caesars sportsbooks.

MLB betting odds are on the board and getting attention for a 12-game Thursday schedule. Among the noteworthy matchups, the slumping New York Yankees are hoping for a return to form as they open a four-game series against the Baltimore Orioles.

Caesars sportsbooks provided insights on MLB opening lines and early line movement, sharp money and public betting for Thursday’s games.

                          MLB line movement

New York halted a dreadful 5-15 freefall Tuesday with a 7-2 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays in Buffalo, the home of the Blue Jays in this unusual season. Gerrit Cole (4-3, 3.63 ERA) will try to help the Yankees make it two in a row in a 7:05 p.m. ET first pitch against visiting Baltimore.

Although the Orioles took three of four from the Yankees a few days ago, New York opened a hefty -250 at Caesars books and moved to -270 late Wednesday night.

Out on the left coast, the San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres are playing pretty good ball of late. Both are 8-2 in their last 10, with San Fran on a five-game run and San Diego on a 4-0 upswing. With the Giants playing late against the visiting Mariners on Wednesday night, sportsbooks held off on posting this game.

The Houston Astros and Oakland Athletics wrap up a four-game series with a 3:40 p.m. ET start, after the A’s nabbed a 3-2 win at home Wednesday. Caesars opened at Oakland -144/Houston +134, and there was no line movement through late Wednesday night.

                          MLB public betting

The Consensus is often a good indicator of where the public is, and despite recent form, the Yankees are the lean against the Orioles. As of late Wednesday night, New York was attracting 65 percent of early picks. The A’s were landing 61 percent of early picks against the Astros.

The early leader for the most popular public play is the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers. St. Louis was taking 78 percent of Consensus picks for a 2:15 p.m. ET contest.
