It’s not the same team you’ve watched in the past as coach Thibodeau has made an immediate impact on this young roster. A year ago, the Knicks were 23rd in defensive efficiency ratings allowing 1.130-points per possession and 112.3PPG. This season New York is competing on the defensive end of the court and giving up just 1.064PPP and 105.1PPG. New York has won 4 of their last five games overall and are coming off a 4-game road trip. The Knicks already have a few impressive wins on their resume including a 20-point blowout of the Bucks at home. Utah is coming off a beatdown in Brooklyn last night and looked lethargic on both ends of the court. This will be the Jazz third game in four days and the second of a back-to-back. Utah does have a winning straight up record when playing without rest the past two years, but it is marginable at 13-11 SU with a +/- differential of +0.7PPG. Some bettors might be backing the Jazz here off a loss but again there is nothing there to impress us enough to not back the Knicks here. Since 2018 Utah is 37-31 SU off a loss, +3.1PPG. The Knicks have a losing spread record at home the past two full seasons but their average loss margin of minus -6.4PPG is enough to get a cover here.
