My selection is on the 'over' between Atlanta and New York at 7:35 pm et on Wednesday.
These two teams got off to an extremely poor shooting start to Sunday's series-opener but high-scoring second and fourth quarters ultimately helped the game get 'over' the low posted total. Here, we're dealing with a higher number, but I still believe it will prove to be too low. The Knicks clearly had some playoff jitters in Game 1 as the outstanding duo of R.J. Barrett and Julius Randle combined to knock down just 12 shots and score 29 points in the narrow two-point loss. I expect both to be much better in Game 2 on Tuesday. Meanwhile, we can expect Hawks superstar Trae Young to come out aggressively after getting called out for 'flopping', a criticism that has been flung his way on more than one occasion. Despite the relatively low posted totals, this has been a high-scoring series this season with three of four matchups sailing over 220 points. Five of the last six meetings here in Manhattan have gone 'over' the total as well. Take the over (8*).

If you believe the old saying of you are what your record is, the Diamondbacks are the worst team in the National League. That's what their 18-31 record shows.
Arizona is in full tailspin mode losing 18 of its last 21 games, including the past nine. So it doesn't take much persuasion to lay a short road number with the Giants, who own the third-best winning percentage in the National League. San Francisco has been tough at home and lately been very good on the road, too, winning its past six away games. The Giants' average margin of victory during this road win streak is 5.8 runs. The pitching matchup is Johnny Cueto versus Merrill Kelly. Cueto is 3-1 with a 3.34 ERA. He's past his prime, but still a solid middle-of-the-rotation quality starter. Kelly is 2-5 with a 5.05 ERA. He's pitched better lately with a 3.65 ERA in four May starts. However, I still prefer Cueto and a much stronger San Francisco bullpen. The Giants have won nine of their last 11 meetings against the Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks play better at home. They've lost five of their last eight games by two runs or fewer. So they are overdue to win. But until that happens, they are worth fading especially when the lay price is manageable.
