I used the Indians as my free play yesterday, cashing with Cleveland’s 4-0 shutout win at Wrigley Field. Today, the preferred play is on the total, not the side; a game that has all the makings of another low scoring affair. David Ross’s Cubs are ice cold offensively – they’ve now scored two runs or less eight times in their last nine ballgames, with the ‘offensive outburst’ during that span a three run game against the Mets bullpen after Jacob Degrom got hurt and left early. This is NOT an offense primed to get untracked today, even against suspect starter Eli Morgan. Meanwhile, Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks is in tremendous current form; a ‘bet-on’ hurler right now. Hendricks has thrown seven consecutive quality starts, with no opponent finishing with more than three runs in any of those ballgames. I know they will be keeping a close eye on Gerrit Cole for any possible foreign substances, but I am confident that Cole can dominate the Royals the way he has in the past as he leads the Yankees to another win.

New York is starting to get a little run brewing, as they swept Toronto in Buffalo and came back home to take 2 of 3 off of the Oakland A's to put themselves on a 7-4 run their last 11 games.

Cole is 3-1 in his 4 career starts against the Royals with a 2.36 ERA. He will face a Kansas City team that enters at just 3-12 their last 15 games.

Brady Singer will go for the Royals as he makes his first start at Yankee Stadium.

Singer is just 3-5 on the year with an ERA over 4 and since his team is 2-7 the last 9 series meetings with the Yankees I am feeling a New York win by 2 runs or more.

The streaking Seattle Mariners welcome the Colorado Rockies to town for a two-game Interleague set, and I like the home team to get it done here.

The M's have won four straight and seven of eight thanks to a seemingly enthused offense that has outscored the likes of Cleveland, Minnesota and Tampa Bay by a combined final of 45-25.

The Mariners enjoying an elongated homestand, as it will be finishing up a nine-game stay in Seattle with these two games, before heading to Chicago and Toronto.

The Rockies have lost two straight, meanwhile, a disappointing finish to a seven-game homestand that started promising with five straight wins. Colorado has lost its last four road games.

4* MARINERS

Big Game 5 in a tied series between the Montreal Canadiens and Vegas Golden Knights, and we have two of the league's best goaltenders in net, with Carey Price and Marc-Andre Fleury.

I expect a duel between Price and Fleury tonight at T-Mobile Arena, as they've been outstanding when playing - Price in the first four games and Fleury in the first three.

In particular, Fleury will be looking to avenge flubs in Game 2 and 3, the biggest in the latter, which allowed Montreal to tie the game, send it to overtime, where it won and took a 2-1 series lead. Fact is, Vegas should be returning home with a 3-1 series lead with a chance to wrap things up.

Instead, they'll head back to Montreal for Game 6 on Thursday.

Tonight will be tightly contested, as we've seen both groups of forwards limit time and space, and control the neutral zone at different times of each game. I expect nothing different, as the goalies become the stars and once again we have a low-scoring contest.

The first four games have returned an average total of 4.5 goals in each game. This could be a 1-0 or 2-1 game.
