CREEKMORE - The rider and handler combination have a beneficial return on investment when they work together. I really like sprint horses that make a quick turnaround. You have to bet this equine at a racetrack he likes. There's nothing like being comfortable out on the track when it's time to race. HASHTAG WINNING - I'm expecting this beautiful animal to run a big one today. HOBE SOUND - This gelding is in fine physical condition, having run a nice race on September 4th, finishing first. Look at this gelding's PP lines. With each event he keeps getting closer. That 92 fig this gelding garnered in his last race tells me he's a big time player this time out. HOT N SPICY LOVE - The morning line odds on this gelding are higher than those of the other entrant from the shedrow of trainer Kreiser. Often the longer-priced part of a 'split' entry wins. This gelding is in fine physical condition. Ended up third on September 8th. This gelding is rounding his way back into shape. Should perform well today.

Due, in large part, to the fact that Boston needs this game and Washington doesn't, the Red Sox are considerable favorites on the moneyline. That being the case, we're able to get an extra +1.5 runs with the Nationals, at an underdog price. Given the matchup, I believe that's where the value lies. Just because teams don't need to win, doesn't mean that they aren't trying to do so. The Red Sox learned that first hand again yesterday, as the lowly Orioles beat them for a second time in three days. The Nationals, on the other hand, had the day off. While I successfully played against the Nats in their last game, it's worth mentioning that four of their previous five had been decided by a single run. Rodriguez has a poor 4.93 ERA through 30 starts. While Rogers has only made five starts, he's got a 2.71 ERA to show for them. Averaging six innings per start, he's allowed three or fewer earned runs each time he's taken the mound. Consider grabbing the extra +1.5 runs with the rested home team.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane are much better than their 1-3 record. Their opening loss to Cal Davis was bad, but they were missing several players due to suspension. They nearly upset Oklahoma State on the road in a 23-28 loss as 10.5-point dogs, then covered in 20-41 loss at Ohio State as 24.5-point dogs. That was a 7-point game late in the 4th quarter. They came back with a 41-34 win over Arkansas State last week that was misleading in that it should have been a bigger blowout. The Golden Hurricane had 663 total yards and outgained the Red Wolves by 304 yards. Houston is 3-1 but the three wins all came against soft competition. After a 21-38 loss to Texas Tech, the Cougars have since beaten Rice, Grambling and Navy. Philip Montgomery is 7-0 ATS off a win where his team failed to cover the spread at Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane are 22-7 ATS in their last 29 against a team with a winning record. The Cougars are 0-4 ATS in their last four games as underdogs. Give me Tulsa.

My “Cutting Room Floor” plays are the situations I considered the closest to being worthy of investment but did not make the “final cut” for my official plays today for subscribers. The last play I cut for Friday was on the Chicago White Sox with the money-line versus the Detroit Tigers listing both starting pitchers Lance Lynn and Wily Peralta. Chicago (91-68) has won four in a row after their 6-1 win against Cincinnati on Wednesday. The White Sox begin this final series on the regular season having won 16 of their last 21 opening games to a new series. Chicago has won 11 of their last 15 games at home against right-handed starting pitchers. Detroit (76-83) snapped a four-game losing streak with a 10-7 win at Minnesota yesterday. But the Tigers have lost 4 of their last 5 games after scoring at least five runs in their lsat game. Detroit has also lost 5 of their last 6 games as a money line underdog. Take the Chicago White Sox with the money-line listing Lynn and Peralta. Best of luck — Frank.
