Philadelphia’s power play Im betting will be the difference maker here tonight in Vancouver. The PP is , recording a 36.4% success rate. On the flip-side I have watched portions of some Canuck games and their defense is just to shaky and inconsistent to deal with this kind of pressure from a smooth skating Flyers side that usually plays a wide open style of hockey. Flyers are 7-1 in their last 8 vs. Western Conference.
Philadelphia to win on the ML

      NHL | Flyers vs Canucks
Play on: Canucks -130 at Mirage

Thursday NHL Free play. My selection is on Vancouver over Philadelphia at 10:05 pm et on Thursday.
The Flyers upset the Oilers in Edmonton last night but I don't expect them to notch a second straight victory in western Canada on Thursday. First, I'll point out that Martin Jones will be between the pipes for Philadelphia in this one. He was ok in his first start of the season as the Flyers supported him with six goals in a lopsided win over the Bruins (Jones allowed three goals on 40 shots). I still consider him a liability, however, and look for the Canucks to have little trouble solving him on Thursday. Note that the Flyers are just 6-14 the last 20 times they've come off a game in which they scored four goals or more, as is the case here, outscored by 1.4 goals on average in that spot. Meanwhile, the Canucks are 18-10 in their last 28 games when coming off a home loss and average a whopping 4.2 goals when coming off a one-goal loss at home over the last 2+ seasons, as is the case here (nine-game sample size). Take Vancouver.

Play on: Grizzlies +6 -105 at pinnacle

          FREE PICK: Memphis Grizzlies +6
          RATING: 30*

I will take the 6-points with Memphis on the road tonight against the Warriors. The betting public is going to be all over Golden State. The Warriors are gaining steam after a 4-0 start, while the Grizzlies come in off back-to-back losses and are going to be playing this game on no rest after an ugly 96-116 loss at Portland last night.
I just feel like the books have inflated the number quite a bit here. Keep in mind Memphis was only a 4-point dog at the Clippers, 5-point dog at the Lakers and a 2.5-point dog last night at Portland.
The other big thing to note is that while the Grizzlies will be on no rest, it got so ugly so quickly in the 2nd half of last night's game against the Blazers, they were able to cut back on the minutes of their starters. Memphis also couldn't have shot any worse in the 2nd half of that game and Morant had an off night.
I don't know if it will be enough for the Grizzlies to pull off the upset, but you got to like their chances of making a game of it and keeping it within the number. Give me Memphis +6!
