They have 3 starters back and add Fatts Russell from Rhode Island, Qudus Wahab from Georgetown and top freshman prospect Julian Reese. All 6 players played key roles in their 83-69 win over Quinnipiac in which they led by 16 at halftime before taking their foot off the gas in the 2nd half. The returning starters in Eric Ayala, Donta Scott and Hakim Hart combined for 28 points and 19 rebounds. The newcomers in Russell, Wahab and Reese combined for 40 points. George Washington will be one of the worst teams in the Atlantic 10 this year. They went 5-12 last year and lose 4 key players that scored 17.3, 10.1, 8.4 and 6.9 PPG last year. They are rebuilding this year and that was evident in their narrow 75-72 win over St. Francis-PA as a 7-point favorite. This will be a much tougher test for the Colonials tonight. Take Maryland.

Montreal opened its homestand with a 3-0 win over Detroit but has since lost its last three home games as the offense has managed only two goals in each of those games. That is exactly on their season average as the Canadiens are second worst in the league with that overall average of 2.0 gpg. Montreal is just 2-5-1-0 at home and its seven points overall is tied for fewest in the Eastern Conference. The Canadiens are 1-10 in their last 11 games against the Western Conference. Calgary is coming off a disappointing homestand where it lost three of six games but did manage a point in two of those losses that went to overtime. After a loss in its first road game of the season, the Flames have won five straight road games, averaging 4.2 gpg in the process. Overall, Calgary is putting up 3.42 gpg which is tied for sixth best in the NHL and the defense has been just solid, allowing 2.17 gpg which is good for second best in the league. The Flames are 5-1 in their last six games playing on one day of rest. Here, we play on favorites against the money line with a winning percentage between .501 and .600 after having lost three of their last four games, in the first half of the season.
