Rogers is on fire in the NHL at 8-2 L10. Recently the Senators are looking like champs rather than the chumps they have been for much of the season, with some fine young players rounding into form. With a suspect defense, they have been winning by outscoring opposing teams. The Lightning will be highly motivated by ther recent shutout loss against the Sens, and will be out for blood tonight. Tampa Bay has some firepower available, and will be sure to use it tonight. This game might be closer than expected but you can definitely count on the total going over.

Thursday NHL Free play. My selection is on Florida over Los Angeles at 7:05 pm et on Thursday.
We won with the Lightning over the Kings on Tuesday and I'll once again fade Los Angeles on Thursday as it continues its road trip in Sunrise. The Panthers are coming off an ugly home loss to the lowly Senators two nights ago. Keep in mind, they were essentially 'punting' that game by starting backup Spencer Knight in goal. They've had very little success with Knight between the pipes this season. The Kings managed to push the Lightning to overtime on Tuesday, largely due to goaltender Jonathan Quick standing on his head for stretches in that contest. I'm not sure they'll be so fortunate here. Note that the Kings are now just 4-7 on the road this season where they average only 2.3 goals per game. By contrast, the Panthers are an incredible 14-2 on home ice, outscoring opponents by 1.4 goals on average. Also note that the Florida is a perfect 6-0 the last six times it has come off a home loss by two goals or more, as is the case here, outscoring opponents by an average of 1.1 goal in that situation. Take Florida.

Thursday's Free NBA Pick is on the Indiana Pacers as a 10-point home favorite against the Pistons. I think a lot of people had Indiana last night against a depleted Bucks team and were burned by them. It makes it really hard for those same people to fire right back with that same team as a double-digit favorite. I just feel like it's the perfect spot for the Pacers to rebound against an awful Pistons team. Bet Indiana -10!

The Detroit Pistons have had the last three days off so they should be primed for a big effort tonight against the Indiana Pacers. This is a Pacers team that will be playing the second of a back-to-back after a loss in Milwaukee last night. The Pacers will also be playing their third game in four days after losing at home to the Warriors on Monday. They won't be nearly as hungry to face the Pistons as they were to face the Warriors and Bucks. Detroit is 22-10 ATS in its last 32 games off three or more consecutive losses. Indiana is 8-18-1 ATS in its last 27 home games against a team with a losing road record. Detroit is 5-2-1 ATS in the last eight meetings. Give me the Pistons.

The Brooklyn Nets will be missing James Harden, LaMarcus Aldridge, Paul Millsap, Bruce Brown, De'Andre Bembry and James Johnson due to COVID tonight. They were already without Joe Harris. They should not be favored over the Philadelphia 76ers Thursday.
This line has been adjusted too much for the 2nd of a back-to-back situation the 76ers are on. Even if Joel Embiid doesn't play tonight, the 76ers are still are the better team with the Nets missing all these guys. If Embiid does play it would just be a bonus as he is listed as questionable.
Brooklyn is 0-7 ATS in home games after winning five or six of its last seven games this season. Philadelphia is 4-1-1 ATS in its last six games as a road underdog. The Nets are 0-6 ATS in their last six home games. Brooklyn is 2-8 ATS in its last 10 games as a favorite. Bet the 76ers Thursday.

The Wild wore down at the end of their recent road trip. They've had a few days off now though and they're back home. They're also stepping down in class to host the lowly Sabres. Note that Buffalo is a dismal 1-10 against teams with a winning record. Not only do the Wild have home ice advantage, but they're also far healthier than their guests. While the Sabres are 3-9 on the road, the Wild are 10-2 at home. They're outscoring teams by a 4.6 to 2.9 average score here. They should win this one by more than one. Consider Minnesota on the puck-line.
