Monday NFL Free play. My selection is on Miami minus the points over New Orleans at 8:15 pm et on Monday.
It seems that a lot of people are stunned by the Dolphins incredible turnaround. We shouldn't be. You could see it coming from a mile away as their schedule was going to ease up regardless of the Covid situations around the league. Yes, there was an upset win over a relatively healthy-at-the-time Ravens squad but outside of that the Dolphins have been taking care of business in very winnable games. Now comes another one on Monday night. To say that New Orleans is ravaged with Covid issues would be a massive understatement. RB Alvin Kamara will be on the field but he should find the going tough against a Dolphins defense that will likely show no respect for Saints fourth-string QB Ian Book and sell-out to stop the run in this one. Yes, the New Orleans defense is coming off a stunning shutout of Tom Brady and the Bucs offense in Tampa. Keep in mind the Saints have stumbled following terrific defensive performances on previous occasions this season though. They held the Packers to just three points back in Week 1 before laying an egg in a 26-7 loss to the Panthers the next week. They also gave up just 13 points in a two-touchdown win in New England before dropping a 27-21 decision at home against the lowly Giants the next week. The Fins renewed balance on offense should pose problems for the Saints defense here. Take Miami.

The San Antonio Spurs have quietly been playing well for a month. They have gone 10-5 SU & 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games overall. They made easy work of the Detroit Pistons 144-109 last night after throttling the Lakers 138-110 and the Clippers 116-92 on the road in their last three games coming in.
I'm not concerned about the Spurs having to play the 2nd of a back-to-back here because nobody played more than 25 minutes against the Pistons last night due to the blowout nature of the win. They are staying at home so there's no travel involved. Plus, this will still be just the 3rd game in 7 days for the Spurs.
The Jazz are 0-5 ATS in their last five games overall as they have consistently been overvalued following an eight-game winning streak. They remain overvalued tonight, especially considering they are laying 7 points on the road despite being without their best player in Donovan Mitchell (25.4 PPG, 5.0 APG). Bet the Spurs Monday.

I will gladly take the 8.5-points with the Grizzlies on the road against the Suns. This to me is a great spot to fade Phoenix coming off their huge Christmas Day game against the Warriors. We played against the Suns in this same spot following their two previous games against Golden State. Both of those were also at home.
I think we are also getting some value here because the Grizzlies are playing on no rest after a game at Sacramento on Sunday. I don't think it's as big a deal here. Memphis cruised to a 127-102 win over the Kings and this is only their 3rd game in 7 days.
This is also a Memphis team that just recently got back their best player in Ja Morant and could be getting some key role players back from quarantine.
I also think it's a big deal for Phoenix that they won't have starting power forward Jae Crowder. His numbers won't say so, but he's a big part of what makes that Suns team go. Give me the Grizzlies +8.5!

While the Clippers have seen four straight games fall below the number, the Nets have gone 'over' in four of their past five. Last time out, they combined with the Lakers for 237 points. The Nets' last five games are averaging 226 points. The 'over' is 5-1 the past six meetings. All six finished with at least 220 points. The 'over' is also 5-1 the past six times that Brooklyn faced a team with a winning SU record. Consider the Over.

The undermanned Brooklyn Nets posted a 122-115 victory against the Lakers here in LA on Christmas Day even without players like Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and LaMarcus Aldridge. I think we'll see way fewer points when they take on the Clippers Monday night.
