Jerry Shottenkirk's Daily Picks
Gulfstream Park - Race #5
Picks Notes
#3 Outshine Improved the past few races and has picked up his game in moving over to the synthetic track; was claimed by Sanchez last out as he beat a similar group on the Tapeta.
#5 Centerfoldprospect Has taken on some decent allowance and starter allowance company lately and his most recent win came two races back at Delaware; has never been on synthetics but good turf form often translates well.
#9 Dani's Victory Makes his first off the claim in a race at Woodbine and has been competitive in several races on the all-weather track; capable of a big effort in his first since November.
Race Summary Outshine has taken to racing on synthetic surfaces and has enhanced his worth; comes in off a win and is a solid threat to repeat.
Gulfstream Park - Race #7
Picks Notes
#1 Yes I'm a Beast Was a clear winner last out and was claimed by Tharrenos stable; has taken three of seven lifetime starts and should run comfortably at this starter allowance level.
#7 Icy Storm Closed strongly and was up in time for a maiden win at Indiana Grand; makes his first for the Jolley barn.
#6 One More Score Has been in stronger races lately and should find this class drop to his liking.
Race Summary Yes I'm a Beast has an edge in quality experience and results vs. these and from the opening strides will be the one to beat.
Gulfstream Park - Race #9
Picks Notes
#3 David's Rose Has shown speed against much better than these and will be the one to catch.
#1 Mount Sinai Romped last out in her only synth start and keeps Saez aboard; was a good claim for Klesaris, who haltered her in her first start when she was off the board. A switch to Tapeta worked wonders.
#8 Poiema Was a leader in all three starts and lasted for a maiden win last out; can overcome the post in a hurry.
Race Summary David's Rose should benefit from having been in good races and should be able to hold together vs. these.
