    Race 6 - Claiming - 7.0f on the Dirt. Purse: $6000 Class Rating: 89

FOR FILLIES AND MARES FOUR YEARS OLD AND UPWARD. WEIGHT, 121 LBS. NON-WINNERS OF A RACE SINCE FEBRUARY 5 ALLOWED 1 LBS. A RACE SINCE JANUARY 20 ALLOWED 3 LBS. A RACE SINCE DECEMBER 20 ALLOWED 5 LBS. CLAIMING PRICE $4,000.

    RECOMMENDED CHOICES
    # 11 LADY ARCHA 2/1
    # 9 ELEGANT ROSE 5/2
    # 3 SOUR PEACH 10/1
LADY ARCHA looks very good to best this field. Has run strongly when racing a dirt sprint race. Must be considered given the class of races run lately. She has to be given a shot given the strong speed figs. ELEGANT ROSE - Will almost certainly compete soundly in the pace contest which bodes well with this group of animals. Negron has this mare travelling well and is a decent choice based on the strong speed figures posted in sprint races lately.

      Fair Grounds - Race #2 - Post: 1:35pm - SO - 8.0 furlongs on the Turf. Purse: $19,000 Class Rating: 86

      Rating:

      #5 CHAMPAGNE HORIZON (ML=4/1)
      #1 GLANCE (ML=2/1)
      #3 ANGEL OF VERDUN (ML=7/5)

CHAMPAGNE HORIZON - Jockey hops right back aboard after getting to know the horse by riding last time out. That's always a green light. Average class figure is tops in this field. I think that is a big advantage for a turf race. This mare is clearly on the improve with speed figs of 73, 78, 82 last 3 out. GLANCE - That recent bullet 35.8 work shows that this mare is ready for a top performance today. ANGEL OF VERDUN - Utilizing this jockey/conditioner combination is a smart choice. I seem to always make money betting Hartman horses on the grass. That barn has a powerful win pct for this distance/surface.

      Vulnerable Contenders: #1A HAVINFUNYET (ML=2/1), #8 VARSITY FLYGIRL (ML=7/2), #7 A LITTLE FLYER (ML=9/2),

HAVINFUNYET - This pony ran a run-of-the-mill speed rating last time around the track. She shouldn't improve and will probably get beat today running that rating. VARSITY FLYGIRL - If this affair shapes up right, all the speed horses will force a ferocious duel early. Too bad this animal is one of those front runners. A LITTLE FLYER - This horse hasn't shown much life in the last couple of contests.

GUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - CHAMPAGNE HORIZON - The conditioner puts blinkers on. This beautiful animal should improve today with the equipment change.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: #5 CHAMPAGNE HORIZON to win at post-time odds of 3/1 or better
      EXACTA WAGERS: Pass

      TRIFECTA WAGERS:
      Box [1,3,5] Total Cost: $6
      SUPERFECTA WAGERS: [1,3,5] with [1,3,5] with [1,2,3,4,5] with [1,2,3,4,5] Total Cost: $36

        Race 1 - Claiming - 4.5f on the Dirt. Purse: $9000 Class Rating: 76

FOR THREE YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD. THREE YEAR OLDS, 120 LBS.; OLDER, 123 LBS. NON-WINNERS OF A RACE SINCE DECEMBER 20 ALLOWED 2 LBS. CLAIMING PRICE $3,200.

        RECOMMENDED CHOICES
        # 6 CAPTAIN N. BARRON 5/2
        # 7 PROUDTOBESICILIAN 6/1
        # 3 KIDMON 10/1
My selection in this race is CAPTAIN N. BARRON. This field is much easier than the last one he ran against. Is a very strong contender based on figures earned lately under today's conditions. Boasts strong Equibase Speed Figures on average overall when measured up against the rest of this group. PROUDTOBESICILIAN - Payeras ought to be able to get this gelding to break out early in this competition. Facing a much easier field of horses than last time out. KIDMON - Has been running in the most competitive company of the field lately. He has been moving well lately while recording solid speed figures.
