This appears to be a great spot to pull the trigger on the higher number as far as the total is concerned. Boston is coming off a 4-3 loss to Anaheim, but it's picked up its scoring of late, posting 21 goals over its last 5 games. It plays with revenge here as well after a 4-1 defeat at home to the Knights back in early December. Vegas snapped a 2-game slide with a 3-1 win over San Jose. The Sharks average 3.17 GPG, and they'll have to hope to hit that average here tonight in my estimation if they have any hopes in keeping up with the revenge-minded visiting side. Let's steer clear of making a choice between these evenly matched sides, but instead make a play on the total. And everything I see points to this one being a classic "shootout." Consider the over!

My “Cutting Room Floor” plays are the situations I considered the closest to being worthy of investment but did not make the “final cut” for my official plays today for subscribers. The last play I cut for Thursday was the Los Angeles Lakers plus the points versus the Los Angeles Clippers. The Lakers (27-34) lost their third-straight game with their 109-104 loss to Dallas as a 5.5-point underdog on Tuesday. The Lakers may be in free-fall right now — but they are 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games after a straight-up loss. They are also 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games against teams with a winning record despite being without the injured Anthony Davis. The Clippers (33-31) won their fourth straight game with their 113-100 win at Houston as a 7-point favorite on Tuesday. They have not allowed more than 100 points in each of their last two games — but they have failed to cover in 4 straight games after not allowing more than 100 points in their last game. The Clippers are the technical home team tonight between these two organizations that share Crypto.com Arena — but they have failed to cover the point spread in 8 of their last 10 home games when favored. Now Lakers were technically the home team and are now the road team, but the venue is the same. Lakers also at a bit of an advantage, as they have no zero travel since these two last played, while the Clippers had to play two games in Houston over 3 days. Add in the revenge for the Lakers from the 102-105 loss and just how much this team needs a win and it's an easy play for me. Bet the Lakers +2.5!
