I'll take my chances with the Nets as a slim -1.5 point road favorite against the Grizzlies. Brooklyn is rolling right now. The Nets have won 6 of 7 and are just a different team on the road with Kyrie available to play. Not to mention Brooklyn has a lot to play for down the stretch, as they are just 3-games back of the Cavs for the No. 6 spot and not having to play in the play-in games.
Memphis is on cruise control, as they are 2-games ahead of the slumping Warriors for the No. 2 spot (9-games back of Suns for No. 1) and 4-games in front of 4th place Utah. They also are down their best player, as Ja Morant is still out with a knee injury. I'm sure the Grizzlies will put up a fight, but it just won't be enough against this Nets team. Give me Brooklyn -1.5!

My “Cutting Room Floor” plays are the situations I considered the closest to being worthy of investment but did not make the “final cut” for my official plays today for subscribers. The last play I cut for Wednesday was with the Memphis Grizzlies plus the points versus the Brooklyn Nets. Memphis (49-23) has won five of their last six games after their 122-98 victory at Houston on Sunday. The Grizzlies have covered the point spread in 11 of their last 14 games at home. They have also covered the point spread in 12 of their last 16 games as an underdog. Memphis will be without Ja Morant for this one as he nurses a knee injury — but they have a 14-2 record in their 16 games this season playing without their star player. Brooklyn (38-34) has won six of their last seven games with their 114-106 upset win against Utah as a 2-point underdog. The Nets have failed to cover the point spread in 23 of their last 31 games after a point spread win. They have also failed to cover the point spread in 22 of their last 30 games when favored. Wednesday's Free NBA Pick is on the Dallas Mavericks as a 10-point home favorite against the Houston Rockets. I don't see this being much of a game. The Mavs should roll to an easy win and cover in this one. Dallas is not only fighting to catch the Jazz for the No. 4 spot in the west playoff race, but they also need to keep winning to avoid falling back into the play-in games. Houston has struggled to keep it within single-digits against good teams, including a recent 13-point home loss to the Mavs back on March 11th. Bet Dallas -10!

Wednesday NBA Free play. My selection is on the 'under' between Philadelphia and Los Angeles at 10:10 pm et on Wednesday.
Both of these teams are coming off 'over' results on Monday night. I expect a different story to unfold as they match up in Los Angeles on Wednesday. The 76ers have been 'managing' proceedings for weeks now and it's come as the expense of their offensive production, noting that they've scored 118 points or less in seven straight games - that coming after they had scored 120+ points in six of their previous seven contests. Tonight's game is not only a three-in-four spot for the Sixers but it also marks the beginning of an 11-game in 19-night stretch to close out the regular season. I'm not convinced they're interested in a track meet here, noting that they've attempted just 84, 79, 75, 73 and 86 field goals over their last five games. On the flip side, they've also limited their opponents to 82 or fewer FG attempts in four of their last five contests. You would have to go back five games to find the last time Philadelphia saw an opponent make good on 40+ field goals. The Lakers have shot the lights out over their last three games but I don't see it continuing here. Note that they average 2.1 points per game below their season scoring average when coming off a win this season, as is the case here. Tonight's game will mark their fourth in the last six nights, in four different cities no less. Here, we'll note that the 76ers have posted a 5-15 o/u record when coming off a home win this season, as is the case here, resulting in an average total of just 208.3 points in that spot.
