SACRED LIFE (FR) - In this race here, this horse has recorded the highest speed fig at the distance, so I have to give him the edge. This mount is for real on the turf. TrackMaster turf figure in last race at Fair Grounds was tops in this group. The addition of the 'hood' usually means that a trainer wants a thoroughbred to show more speed or to keep his attention focused. Out of the money finish last out at Fair Grounds was better than it looked on paper. He improved position in the stretch and never gave up. DOSWELL - I wouldn't worry too much about the layoff; this gelding is ready to run today. I took a look at this gelding's finishes. He's almost always in the top three. This horse has recorded the best recent turf Equibase speed figure at the dist-surf. I just may give this one a chance. Should improve off last race where he did run off the board, but was within five lengths at the wire. This one likes to win at multiple race tracks. The switch in venue today may be a wake up call. I'll take my chances with the Mets as a -153 road favorite against the Phillies. Unfortunately we have to pay a little higher price after Friday's rainout, but with the same starting pitching matchup, I'm going to fire right back with this bet.
New York had one of the most improbable wins of the season in the series opener on Thursday. The Mes exploded for 7 runs in the Top of the 9th to win 8-7.
Winning a game in that fashion can be a huge momentum builder for the team that rallied from behind and a absolutely crushing blow to the team that lost. I just think it will be really hard for Philly to bounce back from that defeat, especially with Max Scherzer on the mound for the Mets.
Scherzer is off to another stellar start in 2022. He's 4-0 with a 2.61 ERA and 0.806 WHIP in 5 starts. Mets are a perfect 5-0 in those starts. He's also owned the Phillies in his career. Scherzer is 16-4 with a 2.44 ERA and 1.002 WHIP in 27 starts.
Kyle Gibson will go for the Phillies. He's been great so far in 2022, but is just 1-3 with a 4.15 ERA and 1.747 WHIP in 6 career starts vs New York. Give me the Mets -153!

Two of the best starters in the National League square off tonight when Corbin Burnes takes on Max Fried in this Game 2 showdown between the Brewers and Braves. Runs are going to be at a premium in this one folks.
Burnes is 1-1 with a 1.93 ERA and 0.735 WHIP in five starts this season with 43 K's in 32 2/3 innings. He is a legitimate Cy Young contender. Burnes pitched 6 shutout innings in his final start against the Braves last season.

This is a play on the ATLANTA BRAVES for our Saturday Free Play. Atlanta lost the opener of this series on Friday 6-3 and has now lost five of its last seven games. The reigning World Series Champions are now 12-16 and the Braves are in third place in the National League East but trail the Mets by seven games. They are just 6-8 at home and their offense has been up and down as they are middle of the pack in runs scored, average and OPS but are near the top in power as they are averaging 1.21 home runs per game and they could use some of that power here against Corbin Burnes who has been great but has allowed four home runs in five starts. The Braves are 19-7 in their last 26 games after allowing five runs or more in their previous game. Milwaukee has won four straight games and nine of its last 10 to take over first place in the National League Central as it leads St. Louis by 2.5 games. The Brewers offense has been lethal as they are averaging 10 rpg during this recent winning streak although they have not really played anyone of note and have faced some pretty poor starting pitching along the way. They are 8-4 on the road and come in as the road favorite based on records and the fact that Burnes is on the hill so we are catching value in what is a big game for the Braves to get right. The Brewers are 4-9 in their last 13 games against left-handed starters and Milwaukee is hitting just .216 against lefties this season.
