#2 I Will Yeah He looks like he can be a handful with this group after posting a nice score at Turf Paradise, and his overall recent form might be just a slight cut above the rest in here. The one to beat.
#8 Willtobelucky Finisher ran okay here last year, and his last try at Turf Paradise wasn't all bad. Think he's a reasonable alternative to the logical top choice, but he has been no serious match for that guy in a couple recent starts.
#5 Atomic Candy He has never been a star on the turf, but he has enough pace to find a decent spot in a race without a bunch of early speed, and maybe that allows him to hang around for a slice late.
Race Summary I Will Yeah should be tough with these, as he brings good recent form and a baseline effort that seems difficult to get past if he can work out a trip today.

Canterbury Park - Race #5
Picks Notes
#1 Foxglove I'm not super enthused about the form, but she does have some finishing ability and might be able to settle and save some ground. Think she's in the mix.
#4 Rozey Cheeks Think she has a claim on this from a good, tactical spot, but there might be just enough outside pace in here to force the issue a little bit early, and I worry that leaves her taxed late.
#7 Midnight Current She's another with a claim on this one, and I really like that she has shown some versatility as far as running style goes. Her turf form is tough to argue with, and she's no surprise on top here.
Race Summary Foxglove probably needs a little bit of help from the forward players, but she owns some running lines that look really competitive here, and she might offer a mid-range price with these.

Canterbury Park - Race #7
Picks Notes
#4 Nacho S Debuter might get a little overlooked here, but he's got a pretty decent pedigree for the trip and isn't meeting much established form in here. Obviously the Robertson debuters are a concern, but this guy might be live.
#3 Casey's Law Tough to discount this guy for a top team, and he's sure to take some action in the debut run. Obviously respect the connections, but I'd want to get a good look at this group before landing here.
#2 Cottoncandymartini Like the other two listed here, he'll go first out without a whole lot to worry about from those who have previously raced. Would be a little surprised if one of the debuters didn't land this.
Race Summary Nacho S figures to be the longest shot of the three debuting runners in here, and he has a little bit of sprint pedigree that makes him interesting in a race that feels like it almost has to go to one of the fresh faces, as the other three have already combined for 62 maiden losses.

Race 6: Astoria Stakes

#6 Devious Dame was impressive on debut at Churchill Downs and looks ready for the next step today. Norm Casse looks to have a pretty good horse on his hands. #5 Girl Bye could not have been more impressive on debut at Gulfstream Park last time out. It is a good sign that they are shipping her up to run against tougher horses today.

Race 7: Allowance

#2 Ensemble runs second off of the layoff today after a solid third place effort in her United States debut last time out at Keeneland. It was just an allowance race; however, it was a loaded field. #4 Baby Blythe also runs second off of the layoff after finishing third at this level last time out at Belmont Park.

Race 8: Tremont Stakes

#4 No Nay Hudson looked like a super star on debut for Wesley Ward, dominating the competition by open lengths. The horse was slated to go to Royal Ascot; however, he did not work well over the turf course, so they will keep him on the dirt. #5 Valenzan Day was a sharp winner on debut last time out over this race track.

Race 9: Maiden Claiming

#7 Dame Time takes a major drop in class for this race after running a decent fifth against better horses last time out. Look for her to take this field gate to wire today. #1 Diamant Damhsa should run better at this level after a lack luster race last time out. She should get a good trip from this inside post.

We’re on the racetrack Thursday looking for more winners before the Belmont Stakes. The Belmont Stakes is scheduled for this weekend in New York. Even though it’s not as big of an event as it could be with a Triple Crown bid on the line, I’m getting excited for the final Triple Crown race.
We The People Small Favorite
There isn’t a clear favorite to win the Belmont Stakes. We the People, who I bet when he wasn’t the favorite earlier in the week, is the morning-line favorite after post positions were revealed.

It was a profitable afternoon at Churchill Downs yesterday. We’re playing Belmont Park for our first plays on Thursday afternoon. Belmont has nine races worth $986,000 on the Thursday card. Head below for our best Belmont Park picks on June 9, 2022.

We will open on the grass at Belmont Park this afternoon. Summer to Remember and Yes and Yes have to be interesting contenders in this one. They both have better chances of winning than the odds suggest.

Summer to Remember is 3 for 17 in his career after finishing 3rd, 1st, 7th in his previous three attempts. He finished 7th in an $84,000 event on November 21 at Aqueduct Racetrack.

That was disappointing, with Summer to Remember bouncing back with a $50,000 win by 1 length on December 3. His speed reading was hot, with a time of 105 for a personal best.

Summer to Remember couldn’t follow up, but had a fine run to show 3rd on April 30 in a $55,000 assignment. Yes and Yes should prove to be a tough challenge.

Yes and Yes is 3 for 20 and a top-3 performer in four of his previous outings. He’s coming off a half-length win for a $92,000 purse on May 5.

The gelding was in top form after placing 2nd behind Vodoo Zip by a half-length for $92,000. The No. 7 has the best value on the turf to open the day.
