NHL | Avalanche vs Lightning
Play on: UNDER 6 -120
Monday NHL Free play. My selection is on the 'under' between Colorado and Tampa Bay at 8:15 pm et on Monday.
The Lightning look like a team that's running out of gas. While they've won back-to-back Stanley Cup titles, that also means that they've played a ton of hockey over the last 2+ years. Here, we find them having scored 2, 2, 2, 3, 4, 3, 2, 3 and 0 goals over their last nine games. While Colorado is off to a blazing hot start in this series, having scored 11 goals through the first two games, I don't count on that continuing here, noting that the Bolts have allowed just 1.9 goals on average when playing at home seeking revenge for a loss in which their opponent scored 4+ goals over the last two seasons (20-game sample size), as is the case here. Note also that the 'under' is 12-3 with the Avalanche playing on the road after consecutive games that totalled 7+ goals over the last two seasons, resulting in an average total of 5.2 goals. The 'under' is also 22-12 with Tampa Bay playing at home after losing two of its last three contests over the last two seasons, leading to an average total of 5.3 goals. This is for all intents and purposes, the Bolts last stand and I do expect them to offer some resistance against the red hot Avs and that should lend itself to a lower-scoring affair than we saw in Games 1 and 2. Take the under.
