    Brian W. Spencer's Daily Picks

Presque Isle Downs - Race #6
    Picks Notes
#7 Youmustbea Weasley Demand a better price this time around than that absolutely bonkers 4/5 he offered in that last one, but I think he's going to get a fair setup to try to rally past these late.
#4 Saketumi The form is there for him to be competitive with this group, but I worry that Paid the Preacher is quicker early, and this guy has needed the lead for his best to this point in his career. Think he'll be a good fit with the locals.
#2 Paid the Preacher He's not very reliable late, but he is probably best of the early pace here while getting back around two turns. Hangs around for a piece with these?
Race Summary Youmustbea Weasley typically runs his race, and there are a couple of decent forward players lined up in here who might set things up for him to come from off the splits.

Presque Isle Downs - Race #7
    Picks Notes
#8 Flight to Paradise He didn't have the cleanest go of it in that last one, and I think he's worth another look at this level. Price should be right to see if he can come calling late.
#7 Flawless Bourbon He's got some pace while moving back around two turns, and he was a good fit with similar a few starts back when leading the way before settling for second. Wouldn't be surprised to see him bounce back here.
#3 Quality Run We'll see how he likes the new footing and the local competition, but he's bringing solid form with him from Iowa and might wind up finding a really nice trip from midpack.
Race Summary Flight to Paradise should be an okay price after a couple modest tries with similar in recent starts, but he had some trouble last time out and might be in position to show better -- I like that he stays at this level.

Presque Isle Downs - Race #8
    Picks Notes
#6 Ishka Barha She had little chance after ending up far behind after a tough break, but I am willing to forgive that last try in hopes that she can get back to something more like that two-back run -- I'd be happy to be sitting here at a nice number.
#8 Lucy's Girl She has never been close, but she does own a little pace in a race without a whole lot of early burn and maybe this class drop, coupled with a decent race flow over the new footing, will be what she needs to play at a price.
#2 Lisa Marie She was nowhere at 4/5 last time out, but she owns some back races that would obviously make her tough in a bad bunch. Let's see if she comes alive again here for the new team.
Race Summary Two of the likely chalks in here have combined for 24 career losses, so I'm going to take someone a bit fresher in the face. Ishka Barha has not been reliable, but I think the two-back run might do the trick if she gets back to it today.

      Frank Carulli's Daily Picks

      Parx - Race #1
      Picks Notes
#3 KING’S HOUSE (8-5) Buried lesser, better than his last go-round under these conditions.
#4 WEEKEND IN COURT (7-2) Shortens up, runs late, 0-17 this year, but can rally for share.
#1 MANOLETE (5-2) Took step back at Monmouth, but was 5/1-1-2 in prior sprints on Parx dirt.
Race Summary KINGS HOUSE broke out and drifted out when second to a repeat winner at Delaware, then he won going away in an easier condition on his return to Parx. He did little under these conditions in the spring but is a better horse now. Bet to win and place and play a 3-4-ALL trifecta.

      Parx - Race #4
      Picks Notes
#2 CATALON (4-1) Plagued by slow starts out west, need not be much to break maiden in first start locally.
#3 ORB’S PARTY GIRL (10- Contended for a half-mile in last four before fading, now tries long sprint.
#6 ROLIN AND CONTROLIN (2-1) Gave way chasing odds-on winner at Monmouth, gets class relief.
Race Summary CATALON was steered outward after a slow start at Santa Anita and finished last. She arrives off a cross-country journey for a high-percentage barn with maiden claimers taking a drop in class. Play a 2-ALL exacta.

      Parx - Race #5
      Picks Notes
#4 IZA ONE (7-2) Often plays the bridesmaid, could upstage to a victory, needs some pace flow.
#1 LULI’S DANCER (9-5) Earned her keep on the turf, recent workout encouraging for return to main track.
#7 WENDY’S FINE WINE (5- Steady check-getter against better, use underneath in all gimmick wagers.
Race Summary IZA ONE rallied wide for minor awards behind short-priced winners twice in July. She was ‘sluggish’ and didn’t factor last out, but is worth a play at a better price to end a long winless drought. Bet to win and place.
