Tuesday NHL Free play. My selection is on Chicago over Montreal at 7:05 pm et on Tuesday.
The Canadiens took the first meeting between these two teams this season in a shootout back in late November (we won with Montreal in that game). The Blackhawks are playing far better now than they were then (that loss was part of a 2-21 slide) and I look for them to exact their revenge on Tuesday night in Montreal. Note that Chicago enters this game a respectable 8-6 over its last 14 contests. With a number of players auditioning for possible roles on other teams down the stretch (the Blackhawks will undoubtedly be sellers at the trade deadline) we've seen Chicago play its best hockey. It's a similar story for the Canadiens as they come off a Super Bowl weekend sweep of the Islanders and Oilers on home ice. They're still just 13-15 here in Montreal this season where they've been outscored by an average margin of 0.7 goals. It's also worth noting that the Habs are still missing a number of key contributors due to injuries. Interestingly, the Blackhawks have avoided the midseason injury bug with Jonathan Toews the only player of note currently sidelined. Take Chicago.

Happy Valentines Day. The Kraken (30-18-3-2, 30-23 ATS) take on the Winnipeg Jets (33-19-1-0, 32-21 ATS) tonight in Winterpeg. The Jets are 19-8 at home, the Kraken are 17-8-1-1 on the road.
