It's going to be awfully tough for South Alabama to avoid a letdown after securing perhaps the biggest win in program history - a 33-7 rout of Oklahoma State in Stillwater last Saturday. Here, it will be up against a revenge-minded Central Michigan squad that dropped a 38-24 decision, at home no less, as a six-point favorite in this matchup last season. The fact that the Chippewas 'only' lost by 14 points in that game was impressive considering they held onto the football for just 22 minutes. There's a path to success for the Chips in this rematch as they have an effective ground game and a defense that can contain the Jaguars offense. CMU QB Jase Bauer has done what's been asked of him so far this season, taking care of the football (no interceptions) and showing the ability to make plays with his legs. Note that South Alabama has lost one of its top offensive weapons, WR Devin Voisin, for the season due to a knee injury. This is simply too many points to be giving a Chips squad that will relish the opportunity to take a step down in class after travelling to South Bend to face the Irish last week. There's nothing quite like a Saturday night game at home in Baton Rouge. LSU has one of the biggest home-field advantages in the country in this situation. And boy have they looked good since that opening loss to Florida State that was much closer than the final score would indicate. The Tigers went on to crush Grambling 72-0 and easily cover at Mississippi State 41-14 as 9.5-point road favorites. Now they host a Arkansas team that has been underwhelming thus far to say the least. They only scored 28 points as 38-point favorites against Kent State, which is one of the worst FBS teams in the country. And last week they were upset at home 38-31 by BYU as 8-point favorites, and that's a down BYU team this season. This is a big step up in class for the Razorbacks here Saturday night. That will be reflected on the scoreboard. Give me LSU.

This is a play on the NORTHWESTERN WILDCATS+11.5 for our Saturday Free Play. Northwestern is off to a 1-2 start following a blowout loss at Duke last week with the Blue Devils showing they could be for real. The Wildcats return home where they won their lone home game against UTEP 38-7 and while it was aided with turnovers, it was their most complete game of the season. They ran for just 12 yards on 22 carries against Rutgers but put up 184 yards on 39 carries (4.7 ypc) against the Miners and can find that success again here. Defensively, it has not been horrible as Northwestern is allowing 5.5 yppl and while the yppl differential is -1.0 yppl, that is not far off from Minnesota which is at -0.7 yppl. This is a big game with the Wildcats sitting at 0-1 in the conference with Penn St. coming to town next week. Minnesota opened the season with a pair of home wins over Nebraska and Eastern Michigan and while the Gophers were thought to be a live dog last week at North Carolina, that was hardly the case as they lost 31-13 while getting outgained 519-303. There has been no identity on offense as the running game has been sufficient but the loss of Tanner Morgan at quarterback has been evident. Athan Kaliakmanis did get some decent playing time last season but he was not good, completing 52 percent of his passes for 866 yards with three touchdowns and four interceptions. This season, he is completing only 51 percent of his throws with just one touchdown and three picks. The Minnesota defense has not been very clutch as it is allowing opponents to convert 52.6 percent of third down attempts which is sixth worst in the country. Play (358) Northwestern Wildcats
