Rotation #206842: Romania Liga 1: Saturday Free Pick UNDER 2.5 -130 in Poli Iasi vs CFR Cluj @ 11:45 AM ET - Poli Iasi has seen a total of only 5 goals in their last 4 matches! That said, with none of those topping the 2 goal mark, we have excellent value with this under. Also, CFR Cluj has allowed a total of only 3 goals in their last 5 matches. Iasi also will be stingy on their home pitch like they usually are in terms of chances for the opposition. That said, look for just 1 goal in this one or 2 goals at the most. Free Pick UNDER 2.5 -130 in Poli Iasi
The Key: The Virginia Tech Hokies sit at 4-5 this season and will be desperate for a win to try and inch closer to bowl eligibility. They were just blowing out by Louisville, but they were playing well prior to that going 3-1 SU & 4-0 ATS in their previous 4 games with their lone loss to Florida State. They beat Pitt by 17, Wake by 17 and Syracuse by 28. They should get back in the win column here against a Boston College team that is primed for a letdown. The Eagles just won their 5th consecutive game to get to 6-3 on the season and bowl eligible. Teams that just clinch bowl eligibility are always primed for a letdown, especially teams like BC that don't make a bowl every year. They have feasted on a weak schedule and been fortunate in close games with 4 of those 5 wins coming by 7 points or fewer. The Hokies need to be able to run the ball to be effective, and they will be able to run on this soft Boston College defense. BC allows 169 rushing yards per game and 4.9 YPC. The Hokies have rushed for at least 184 yards in 4 of their last 6 games. That matchup advantage, plus having the better defense and the motivational edge will be the keys to them getting the win and cover today. Take Virginia Tech.
Alabama has a top 25 defense against the run and pass. Kentucky has had some nice games, but against top 50 ypp defenses they are 0-3 with two losses at home and an average loss of 20.3 points per game, and 0-3 ATS. Alabama is surging at the right time in my opinion, and gaining confidence in their QB Milroe. I think they will continue to gain that momentum and impress the playoff committee here going up against a Kentucky offense that ranks 84th in success rate and outside the top 60 in both rushing and passing success rate. They rank 95th in third down offense, and I expect they’ll have some issues in this game against Alabama whether it’s Leary or whoever at QB. Leary really is not the type of QB that gives Alabama trouble.
