    LPW Sports Forecast

    NFL Play of Week

10 Unit Pittsburgh +5.5 over Tennessee

Solid value here with a very good Steeler team playing Tennessee team off lopsided Win against Oakland.Dixon given a week to get comfortable and he presents some of what Young presents with Tennessee with mobility and Steelers with solid nucleus.Steelers have an excellent chance at su win here so we take points.

    NFL Underdog of Week

10 Units Cincinnati +2.5 over Baltimore

This without a doubt is a good Baltimore defense, but that evaluation must be tempered with last weeks win against Jets weak offense.Bengals Offense looks a good bit ahead of Jets and we think they will be a sizeable challenge for Ravens.Bengals at home in bounceback mode and we take points!

    6 Units Buffalo/GB Over 43

Over is 48-23-2 in Packers last 73 games vs team with losing record. We simply cant see Pack having much difficulty scoring 30+ here and Bills should be able to squeeze in some garbage points as well. We like this game over.

    5 Units Oakland +3.5 over St.louis

Good opportunity for Raiders ro rebound from miserable game against Titans.Rams 15-33-3 ats last 51 in September and Bradford alone wont change that trend over nights. Raiders su here!

      Sunday, September 19th 1:00 p.m. est.
Arizona Cardinals (1-0) at Atlanta Falcons (0-1)
      Georgia Dome - Atlanta, Georgia
Arizona Cardinals had a tough time against the limp Rams last week. I expect they will have it worse against the Atlanta Falcons. Go with the Falcons to be in command at the Georgia Dome.

      Atlanta Falcons -6½

      Sunday, September 19th 1:00 p.m. est.
Buffalo Bills (0-1) at Green Bay Packers (1-0)
Lambeau Field - Green Bay, Wisconsin
The Bills offense was horrible this week, just nine first downs against Miami. Aaron Rodgers and company should easily handle the Bills at Lambeau Field.

      Green Bay Packers -13

      Sunday, September 19th 4:15 p.m. est.
Jacksonville Jaguars (1-0) at San Diego Chargers (0-1)
Qualcomm Stadium - San Diego, California
The Chargers will look to make amends after losing to the Chiefs in their season opener and will be out for blood when they face the Jaguars at home. Look for Chargers’ QB Phillip Rivers to attack the Jaguars’ vulnerable secondary. Go with San Diego!

      San Diego Chargers -7
      Over - 45½

          Inside Angles

          --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Houston Texans vs. Washington Redskins 4:15pm ET
The Houston Texans are coming off of the biggest win in the history of the franchise, but that may lead to a flat performance vs. the Washington Redskins this week.

In fact, this is a precarious sandwich spot for Houston, as not only are they coming off of a an impressive 34-24 win over the Colts in a game that was not as close as the final score, but they also have a date win their higher profile in-state rivals, the Dallas Cowboys, up next!

We simply do not see how the Texans can possibly play with any energy this week under those circumstances. As for their on the field performance, it was running back Arian Foster that carried them to victory last week, shredding the Indianapolis defense for 231 rushing yards on 7.0 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Quarterback Matt Schaub had an uncharacteristically quiet game, completing just nine of 17 passes for only 107 yards.

The Redskins are coming off of a 13-7 upset of the Cowboys where their offense did nothing, as their only touchdown of the game came on a fumble return right before halftime. The defense was fantastic though, and Washington is fully capable of containing the normally potent Houston offense if the Texan come out as flat as they expect.

Besides, the X-factor here is Washington offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, son of the Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan. The younger Shanahan held that exact same OC position with Houston last season, so he is intimately familiar with the Texans’ system and the strengths and weaknesses of the players.

That added knowledge combined with the dreadful scheduling spot for the Texans should be enough for Washington to pull off the outright upset on Sunday.

          NFL Pick: Redskins +3 (-120)

            --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today's Free NFL Pick: Chiefs vs. Browns Under 39
The Browns' offense may have looked better vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, but the scoreboard looked pretty similar to what we have come to expect - 14 points scored by the Browns. That makes 16 of the last 23 games played by the Browns show 14 points or less scored by the offense. It also showed the fourth game in the last five that the "improving" Browns' defense allowed 17 or less. The Chiefs held a very potent offense in San Diego to 14 points. Despite scoring 21 themselves they netted just nine first downs for the entire game. Take their 94 yard punt return away and they scored just 14 on offense. If that kind of special teams play (as well as a 56-yard TD run) is what it takes for them to get to 21, then they are going to fall short more often than not. The Chiefs play UNDER early very often, and their last 19 September games have gone 14-5 to the UNDER. They are also on a 26-9 UNDER run during the first two weeks of the year. The Browns have followed a loss by going 35-17-3 to the UNDER in their last 55. I like this one to stay UNDER the total. -Wunderdog

Doug Williams went 3-1 last week

              --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's week 2 of the NFL. We had a great week last week with 3 wins out of 4. We only missed out on the Monday night game, where the Chargers lost out to the Kansas City Chiefs who were stronger than expected.

I got a few great picks for this week and I'm confident we'll go 4 for 4.

Houston Texans -3 at Washington Redskins +3
Houston dominated the Colts last week and have a great running game in Arian Foster. The Redskins did have a great opening week, but Dallas looked limp whereas the Texans have firepower all over the place.

Pick: Texans to Cover the -3

Miami Dolphins +5.5 at Minnesota Vikings -5.5
Get on the Vikings before this line moves to -6 or more. In the opening game of the season the Saints only scored 14 points against this Vikings defense. Chad Henne and the Dolphins won't make much of a dent here. The Dolphins just won't be able to shut down Brett Favre and Adrian Peterson in this game.

Pick: Minnesota to Cover the -5.5

St. Louis Rams +3 at Oakland Raiders -3
The Raiders aren’t a great team by any means, we seen just how bad they were against the Titans last week; but they’re in a much better position to win Sunday at home. The Rams just need a few more weeks to gel I feel. Sam Bradford threw for 253 yards for the Rams last week and looked OK but I got to pick the Raiders to cover this one.
Pick: Oakland to Cover the -3

              Chicago Bears +7 @ Dallas Cowboys -7
Nothing went right for the Cowboys against Redskins in Week 1, so expect them to be hungry this week.

The Bears are horrible, especially on goal-line rush defense where they gave up two short yard touchdowns last week, and I feel the Cowboys will cover this line easily.

              Pick: Cowboys to Cover

LAST WEEK: 9-4-3 overall, 1-1-1 Best Bets.
                  BEST BETS: Saints, Browns, Cardinals.

LOCK OF THE WEEK: Saints. 1-0 in 2010, 29-9-1 last 39.

Saints (-51/2) over 49ERS: Sean Payton will have had 11 days to figure out why the Saints scored only 14 vs. the Vikings. This normally would be a bounce-back spot for the Niners off the loss in Seattle, but instead could be a similar beating.
