Houston at LA Dodgers
W. Rodriguez vs. Kershaw
The Astros wave the magic Wandy at Dodgers bats that are hitting a collective .244 against left-handed pitching to this point of the 2011 season. Mr. Rodriguez has been wandyful on the road recently, coming off throwing 6 shutout innings at Arizona, and before that, allowing only 3 runs on 5 hits over 14 innings of work at Wrigley and Busch (if that’s what they still call it) against the Cubs and Cardinals. Dodgers’ lefty Clayton Kershaw has 13 wins, and returns to Dodger Stadium after making four of his last five starts on the road. In the last two months, Kershaw has lowered his ERA from 3.28 to 2.79.
Saturday, August 13, 2011
LA ANGELS (Jr. Weaver) -120 at TORONTO (Romero)
The Angels haven't done as well on the road vs. lefthanders as we would like, they have turned a
profit overall vs. southpaws (+$335) and we can't resist taking Jered Weaver at this price. The LA ace
checks in with a 1.78 ERA after 24 starts (+$575), and he's up against a Toronto team that has been
hammered by righthanders here at Rogers Centre (-$1150). Ricky Romero has only led the Jays to
victories in 2 of his 7 day starts at home, and the Angels are highly motivated as they continue to
chase Texas in the AL West standings.
